I’ve come across a lot of new FFXIV players / sprouts who are unaware of Party Finder, and I have also come across people expecting Duty Finder Queues to pop on the new Materia DC doing old Alliance Raids that nobody wants to queue up for in DF!
Party finder is an extremely helpful tool that can help you get your instances done quickly! I really hope this video helps at least one person!

I'm saving this tip for future reference cause I had no clue how to use PF until listening to you talking about it. So thank you for this video, Sarah!! 👍💯
200 mins? Change to another job!
While it is true PF is the way to go with OCE, it is not entirely honest to say they will be done ''in a flash'', or anywhere remotely close to DF experience in other DC, it will still take way longer to queue, it is just that you will be able to see how many ppl joined in real time instead of hoping SQEX fill your queue with alliance raid roul ppl.
Another issue is unsync, that lingering feeling of you are getting carried through will persist, I am not sure I recommend new player to go through the game like that, just don't feel like a fun experience, now ofc you can insist on not being unsync but the current OCE community expectation, at least on old alliance raid, seems to be unsync, so your insistence will only mean even longer recruitment time.
Additionally, as daunting as it can be, I encourage everyone to network a bit. Join an FC first and foremost, SJ's personal FC on Sephirot is always recruiting alternatively there are large fc's on all the Materia servers. The FFXIV website's 'community finder' feature can help find one! Secondly there are a few Discord channels that can really help with niece content completion, the big ones that come to mind are 'Content Achievers', 'FFXIV Materia DC' and 'FFXIV OCE Community'. If you need help finding any of these discord channels feel free to dm me!
Well said Sarah 😊 Theres a PF for a reason whether you need help doing msq or trial, alliance or whatever. But 200 minutes.. if that ever happens to me ima just thug life it and use pf lol
Thanks for the Video, will help me a lot in the future.
I couldn't see what you were doing light mode was used.
Omg nooo Sarah your videos make me wana reinstall ffxiv must resist the dark side ahhhh lmao
Great video, the start LOL
Thanks for this! I always fumble around with party finder so it's great to have a clear guide. I've been pleasantly surprised by how much easier it is to complete things with PF like the Nier raids, and that was synched as well! Also the FC is always such a big help too, I can't imagine getting through a lot of content without it
didnt know it worked for alliance raid 😛 hope this works need to finish the last stormblood alliance.
Absolutely do not use PF like this.
SHNUGGLE 😮🥰🤗
200mins for duty finder?
That's cute bro😉
Just a reminder for those last minute savage clears. It might be worth lowering the expectation to a 1 or 0 chest. It lets those that have cleared for the week help out.
Honestly, If a system like Duty Finder does not work like it should (effortlessly finding a party quickly) then something is wrong.
For these vids SJ, its probably a good idea to hide the FC chat 😉
I remember being a sprout a year or two ago and I didn't understand that Duty Finder and Party Finder were different things, or what Party Finder even was. I insisted upon doing Binding Coil of Bahamut before moving onto 2.X content because that seemed like the logical end of ARR's initial story, which all revolves around rebuilding after the Calamity. I sat in queue in Duty Finder for 3.5 hours TWICE before begging for advice with doing it, where people pointed me to Party Finder, and I got it done super quick with some nice strangers unsynced. While this isn't as easy of an experience as being able to simply queue into any duty whenever via Duty Finder, I appreciate that Party Finder gives us a backup option like this.
if you want duty finder to pop join a JP world, they love the random match making. XD
Yeh — put it up in the PF people, i'll join and help relay this in NN.
i mean zurvan is pretty dead ngl XD
DF is still pretty active on Exodus, but that is mainly just for regular dungeons and trails, as well as the odd ARR and HW EX trails. It was actually because of the low number of ex trials in DF that I began to solo them, not caring about the mount but just wanting to have between them. Only recently however have I started to use PF, setting up mount farm parties for not only the EX trail mounts but the tank mounts as well. Gonna be setting up some savage mount farms as well soon.
thank you! it's pretty annoying seeing people complain that it isn't as populated as na/eu. Like duh we're a smaller region and newer too, how could we compare player numbers? lol. I've also never had to wait long for pf/df groups which is cool
OCE pain TT Queuing up for Euphrosyne on patch day and it taking ages to fill, only to see 3 different PF groups for it. Would be nice if people would give DF a go first for more recent content, then use PF if it's taking awhile. So many times in PF I see multiple groups, where if they combine together they would have a full alliance party haha
Dynamis has this kind of problem too but the problem we got is people go to other data centers to do their instance stuff and mostly just advertise in pf housing fc club stuff
My record was about 10 hours in DF queue. I fell asleep on my desk, woke up, took a bath, ate breakfast, and I'm still in queue. Seems like it was a bug though, because I withdrew and re-queued, the duty popped in 15 mins.
o/ ty !
Hello!
Remember also that there are Cross-World-Linkshells for a lot of content like Eureka and Bozja. Also Hunts are always busy and run out of the Faloop discord. The Balance and Content Achievers discords are helpful for finding things like Blue Mage runs and other obscure help.
"free poetics cos newbie bonus!!" that usually does it, especially if done unsynced, people are more than happy to get poetics, for soil trading, glamour, old relics etc.
noice
Unsync Alliance raids = Blue mage night out!
I too am sick of the Materia is dead comments! If you know where to look it is very much alive with lots to do.
Lol it's ok better to always ask question if one doesn't know what to do the ff14 community is always so helpful I'm a solo guy myself but never had trouble finding a party to join with
