My joystick has a whiplash so sometimes I turn around last second and let go of the stick and I turn right back around into the eyeball
The fact that the game forces the player to cowardly look away from a boss because of a mechanic gaze feels ball nerfing af
Listen… As someone who started not too long ago, ffxiv was the first time I had to deal with all these mechanics.
HELL YES I walked into those damn gaze mechanics the first bunch of times! 😏
Me: Faces away from the eye
Also me: Attacks, causing me to face the eye
And then I die to Doom. Doom that I know how to clear lol.

As a sprout myself I can say this is true and real and based as fuck.
Me turning my whole camera around and making sure the boss is out of frame just to be sure until I tested on some lower stakes mobs

The fact that mobs in the starting areas actually teach this mechanic but most people kill the enemy and then wonder why they are stuck for a few seconds after the fight, is exactly why Hall of the Novice needs a massive rework.
I'm looking at my hotbars and the ground for AOE's to dodge every damn time.

So I was in the Thordan extreme raid and that shit randomly popped up. After the first wipe, someone explained that I had to face my character away from the attacker and look away from it. I went into first person and turned around and promptly got my tookus tarnished by everything behind me since I couldn't see the subsequent attacks coming lol
LOL they look at gaze, but run away from stacking mechanics
Me whm trying to cast aero last sec before it activates.
If it fails will do again the nxt time.
If it succeeds feels like a boss.
Also cast stone sometimes just to live on the edge and do more dps.
