Final Fantasy XIV got a teaser trailer for the newest expansion, Dawntrail, coming in update 7.0 for Summer 2024 during Fan Fest 2023! As you all know, I love this game so much and it’s one of my favorite games ever made. Soken’s music, the story and characters are a monumental part of why and so I’m happy to share my reaction to it with you all!

Why does the WoL look like Orlando Bloom?

We’ve walked the end, now a new dawn is here and a trail has been opened to us
Definitely calling Corsair or Swashbuckler for WoL’s job here, either dual swords or sword/pistol because scouting melee since someone said the devs look at each gearset separately instead of role so outside “oh we’re getting melee twice” but inside “finally dragoon from arr got a friend, now ninja from arr gets a friend, since monk got its friend in Stormblood”
As for the caster, I thought yoshi-p’s tmnt shirt was for the melee but given how he teased samurai with spider-man, “samu raimi,” people have been theorizing that with the turtles named for famous artists, we’re gonna get ink mage/pictomancer or a true blue mage beyond the limited job
Can’t wait!
The Vacation Expansion lol
I like that this has a lot of South American/Amazon vibes.
My two guesses for the caster job from his t-shirt: My first guess off the bat was a job that knew the spell "Shell", so I thought about Time Mage (also Turtles in Time is a popular game lol). Then I thought about it and, because the Turtles are all named after painters, it's possible we could get an Ink Mage of some kind (like Relm is in ff6). My theory for that goes further when you look at the game Relm is in: there's a piece of gear only she can equip, the cat eared hood. Who else wears a hood like that in XIV that Yoshi-P has stated before will be very important to the plot? Krile. Feel like she will get the job (much like Alisaie changed to red mage for Stormblood and Alphy changed to Sage for Endwalker).
Melee is defently a melee version of Cosair.
