Quazii tries Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) for the first time in 2021 (Episode 48). Is it better than World of Warcraft (WoW)?

I have no words for the experience of 5.0 – this is not an experience, that can be described by words in the English vocabulary. M I N D B L O W N
Remember us… remember that we once lived….
Those words get me every time ;____;
im looking forward to the next patches which really hammer the story down to its completion
Not sure if you have started or im sure you have been told a bunch lol but when you have time DEFF start the role story quest line. It really adds so much back story (wont go into detail because spoilers)
Fantastic video man. 3 hours of fantastic content. I'm glad you've enjoyed your journey through XIV. Hope you enjoy the rest of ShadowBringers.
Shadowbringers is not over till 5.3 🙂
Seeing Ardbert's axe rid of blood was my favorite moment aside from Emet's last words.
I don't think Emet-selch ever imagined that the "7-times rejoined hero of the source" would become the "8-times rejoined hero of the source" right in front of his eyes.
turn those sound effects up.
Cool trivia: Emet in Hebrew means truth and in FFXII, Emet-Selch is also called Angel of Truth, while also having the element of Death, hence Hades. I recommend you to read the Tales from the Shadows in the FFXIV website ^^ They expand on the ShB stories in beautiful ways! But wait til you've finished 5.3 to read it, cause then you'll get all the information you need to enjoy them. I'm glad you got so overwhelmed by this beautiful story, and I can't help but make the FFX bridge here, in which our young heroes find themselves at the precipice and they have to fight a terrible fate that would rather obliterate them, but through sheer will power and love, they manage to overcome all the odds and emerge victorious. I think since you liked the story so much, you'll probably love the whole theory crafting that goes on in the community. I suggest once you finish 5.5 you go around a bit checking people's thoughts and the details they manage to catch to build the coolest theories. Theory crafting is usually what gets me through the wait between patches after I've finished doing all the content hehehehe
That's no dragon, that's an evil pipe organ, which is far worse! 🙂
49:38 My personal theory for why Vauthry became a beautiful angel is because the light doesn't allow deviation. Everything becomes it's "most perfect" form–identical and statuesque.
In 2 decades of gaming and just a few years less of discovering the wonderful world of JRPG characters and story-telling, FFXIV was the first game that made me cry, starting in Heavensward and continuing on to Shadowbringers multiplied by a factor of 10; The only other time was the final ending NieR: Automata. This game has some of the most living, breathing, and relatable characters I've ever encountered in the medium. It's something I think the game deserves even more praise than it already gets, considering it does this despite being held back by its own genre. I think there are individual characters in singleplayer games that are better written overall than let's say some of the Scions, but they have the upper hand of existing in an environment that is tailor-made for character immersion and singular devotion to arcs, while FFXIV is centered around the player as its pivot and everyone else is one of many side characters. It's just inspiring to me what the development team has done for MMOs and video games in general.
Looking forward to seeing you in post-patches and … a certain 8-man raid
Welcome to Final Fantasy XIV.
I absolutely love watching people react to the final part of 5.0 MSQ. It's just such an amazing sequence and it's awesome to see people stunned by it. And even with as many times as I've watched that cut scene from after Amaurot I still get goosebumps from it.
I'm glad you enjoyed SHB so much! and FFXIV in general. Now you've got the patches to go yet….
When 5.0 released Crystal Tower was not yet required for the msq. I felt so bad watching videos of people finishing 5.0 and not getting the option to say it's good to see him awake. Thankfully with that required now, nobody will have to miss that moment again. It is special.
My greatest hope, with FF14 getting much more attention now before Endwalker, is that as many people as possible get to experience this expansion and how incredible it is.
Congratulations on your journey! For what its worth, I wanted to point out back when you were trying to connect moments from the trailer to what was currently happening. The scenes featuring the scions in the trailer take place during the years they were there, long before you arrived. Thancred rescuing a young oracle, Master Matoya providing aid after the the forest was set ablaze, etc.
My mom forst heard my ffxiv music and she really liked all the main themes. I then tried to explain ffxiv to my mom and she actually thought it was very interesting…its sad that she will never play it but I bet you if they made it into a show I could get her to watch it.
these are the meatiest playthroughs ive ever seen
