  1. The map was the most confusing transition for me coming from WoW, but (like movement) you eventually get used to it. Unlike WoW where it constantly updates and shows everything, the FFXIV map mostly just tracks 1 type of thing at a time, so I find myself clicking "show map" button from the quest log all the time, regardless whether my map's already open.

  2. There's a lot to read haha
It's got a strong focus on narrative and the story. You could ask Miso for some guidance if you're feeling too lost, but it just takes some time getting used to.
In the expansions there's a lot more voice-acted cutscenes and overall the quality is just better and better as you progress.
But it's kind of a chill experience in ARR (base game) and then it really picks up in the first expansion, and by the time you get to Shadowbringers the storyline is insanely good. If you find the energy to play the game we'd love to see more!

  3. Me and my friends have a catchphrase in our Discord: That’s it, I’ll see you in Wolve’s Den.

I don’t PvP often enough to know how it works in ranked, but I know enough to throw hands for loot disputes.

  4. Awesome to see you play some FF, i just started like 2 weeks ago and am not regretting it. The main story quests always look like they have a flaming wreath around em that's how i track them. Side quests you can ignore. Everything important is locked behind the main story quests besides like, job quests(class) the glamour prisms one(transmog) and the aesthetician(barber) and stuff.

Oh and data centers are like battlegroups kind of, jenova is the server and aether is the data center
