8:10 Same. After playing a while I tried Shiva Ex for the first time and I got my ass whooped cause I did not notice the Bow or the sword above her, I just died and did not know why. I was so used to have an alarm or a message on the screen, it took me a while to change that behaviour
addons needs to be removed, banned, remove the shit. i agree! people who needs addons to play, dont have any skill, they suck as a player. facts.
They really should remove addon. I think it would be for the betterment of the game and game design in the long run.
You are so right about addons killing WoW raiding. They now design raids around addons and I think that is garbage. You should be able to clear content with the games base UI.
The people who use add-ons in FFXIV raiding, especially like this, are the same people using aimbot in Fort Nite. I'm just gonna leave that out there. These are the kinds of losers they are lol.

Just because it can be worse doesn't mean you shouldn't try to make it better.
the addon you speak of @Rurikhan Unleashed was crt/acr for wrath where it showed you exactly where to go.
not only that but also blizz needs to do there own QA team for raid/content testing no more PTR an just do in house alpha/beta testing so no one knows what's going on ahead of time.
My favorite part about the whole addon debate is the people who are for them dont have a real argument. They will use an addon that is basically cheating and when you say something about it they always say "I dont need it" well if they dont need the addons that play the game for them then why do they use them. They suck at the fucking game and are too pussy to just admit it and ask someone to help them.
And people defend this. I'm sick of people telling others, "what does it matter with you? It doesn't hurt you." MF, it hurts the whole community, when more and more players start getting the mindset of needing these addons to join groups. "Then make groups that don't use addons" or "I don't want to commit that much time to getting better. I don't have the time." This is the part I hate the most. Then the game/mode isn't for you. GTFO. Don't actively make the game worse and cause Square to come down on all addons. Crap like Cactbot have no place in this game.

I play on controller too (keyboard does this too if youre playing on Legacy) and I agree about the automatic camera moviment. At least giva a option to turn it off. One of the few problems I have with Legacy Controls.
When you tried to do the countdown command, were you the party leader? For some reason only the leader can do the countdown
Also, /countdown 10 works for me (I have DBM installed, so maybe it's a DBM command)

i think the only add ons i used to have in burning crusade were the like POW sounds for attacks and something that made quests better readable in some way i can't recall
I'm of the opinion that addons in and of themself are not bad. But some addons are 100% cheating.
If you're adding like… chat bubbles, or an orchestrion to play whatever music you want in the field, that's utterly harmless and isn't giving you a crazy advantage in content.
But if you're running addons that directly present you with extra information in fights, that's stepping over the line.
Xenos went on Allcraft and said its not cheating if it helps you clear. Addons are ok according to him because how else can you clear hard content without them? He's changed his tune recently but that's just trying to join the majority. He made his opinions quite clear already.

fyi auto-attacks have been omnidirectional for years, your aa will go off even if you're not facing the target. strafe used to be a huge deal before this change but now it's just comfort.
They have been shadow banning some addons, or just flat out removed functionally to block things. like personal/party nameplates.

I agree with most of the points about addons, but I just don't get why it matters. Even if they aren't for me, if someone on my team uses them there's no way for me to tell. So I will never care. A clears a clear, and there is no skill based matchmaking in ffxiv, so I'd rather these people use their helpers then join in and ruin the experience for everyone else if they can't play without them.
