  1. I just watched his stuff the other day, and he does an excellent job – I learned some stuff even! Astral being dark and umbral being light is how the First sees it…and actually, Mr. Cox does a good job of explaining it all very simply in his astral/umbral video. Astral is active and umbral is stillness/stasis. But learning that Gaius 'betrayed' his nation in 1.0? It makes a lot of sense why he does so again later – there's precedent for what he's willing to put up with from his nation.(I also want to know how Grampy sent us INTO THE FUTURE?) And I, too, get really choked up watching those cutscenes – and can you imagine waiting TWO YEARS after the 1.0 ending cutscene to see the rest of it??

  2. on umbral and astral, the thing that changed with shadowbringers was the scholars perspective of active and passive for the elements, for the general populace of eorzea the eras are only prefixed umbral or astral because umbral is dark and bad and astral is light and good, regardless of what element the calamities were, they are all dark times and so called umbral calamities

  3. I loved this! I really hate myself for leaving right before 1.0 ended! I came back at Heavensward release & was blown away! The game was totally different than before! I will never leave my FFXIV again! It is still my favorite MMORPG of all time! I still my others like WoW & GW2! Great vid!!!
