FINALLY MY TIME HAS COME
TonyDan you're a legend for finally making this happen.
Compared to its story mode track, very energetic. I love this remix
This song was on every eRP bar back then XD
Im pretty sure i mentioned this song in one of your early FF react vids and im glad to finally see you listen to it! How the hell has no one else mentioned this song??? Literally every streamer that plays through this fight, everyone comments just how much of a gigabanger this song is! Absolutely one of the top tier songs in FF and i knew youd love it!
This is an essentially re-imagined Ramuh fight that takes place in the 8 man Raid in Shadowbringers and everything about this fight is absolutely sick!
hell yeah!
Heya, thanks for reacting Jesse! ^^ I'm glad you enjoyed it! Like with Landslide and Return to Oblivion, Twice Stricken is a remix of an older song, Thunder Rolls, which is Ramuh's theme. Ramuh is an old lightning wizard(who the game describes as half man, half beard, and another half beard for good measure), but in this remixed fight well…your character accidentally mixes him with a lightning horse deity through shenanigans, so cool lightning centaur man! It was definitely a really cool surprise to see what they did with him and the fight is really standout. The song is also SO different to the original theme, which was very serene and calm. It made it so the new music was just as much a shock as seeing the new Ramuh! This song isn't talked about as much as other songs in the game, but it was nice seeing you have a good time with it!
Just to add, should you actually ever dive into the game, you can get this as a mount. I don't know what song it plays when riding, I assume this. Sadly I do not have it yet.
When this raid first dropped the whole team was brand new to the fight and were screaming in the chat over how good this was, myself included. Absolute banger of a song.
If you haven't listened to FFXIV's "eScape" yet, thats another banger I think you'd enjoy a ton
Since you mentioned Answers. The recent release of "Your Answer" would be a good follow up… (Checks releases) Nope, in the clear this time!
When he's got his centaur legs on, he's DJ Ramuh.
I like this boss. It is part of a series of bosses that are like… recreations of entities you have fought which have been drawn from your character's imagination and memory. You are using your adversary's abilities and technology to create entities that represent the weakened elements of the dying world you are attempting to restore, so that you can then dissipate them and restore balance. Because they are drawn out and substantiated from your mind, and because you subconsciously associate them with other bosses of similar element, and because you have taken quite a few blows to the head perhaps, your "heritors" are dramatically different from the original entities but still serve your purposes here just fine, if not better! As others have noted, your heritor version of Ramuh the divine thunder wizard of the forest folk and resident beard-elemental, mixes aspects of other thundrous bosses and ends up a pretty sick buff winged centaur with a fluffy tail to rival his original beard.
YES! Finally you listened to one of the best songs in the game imo. So glad you liked it 🙂
Oh hell yes! This version is the chaotic version of Ramuh’s theme and the fight is doubly chaotic because of this song.
Run away from the lightning bolts! Stop running into me! Ress non-stop because people place the thunderbolts in the centre of the arena. I don’t know why people hate it, it’s my favourite chaotic Eden Raid.
So funnily enough, this fight is a reimagining of a previous fight in the game. The reason why he's a centaur is that the fight is formed from our memories, of which are very hazy apparently. We remember Ramuh being a bearded man who utilizes lightning but we also remember another creature, Ixion the lightning horse, because of the whole lightning motif. So we kind of blended the two together by accident.
Ixion being a FFX summon and the battleground of this fight is a reference to the very same zone you fight the "dark" version of this summon.
Another arrangement/remix by Takafumi Imamura! Guy's putting out some absolute bangers. As others have mentioned already, it's a remix of "Thunder Rolls" (composed by Soken)
This boss has you dancing a LOT, so this track's definitely appropriate for the fight :>
Daddy Ramuh <3
On how's the fight. FFXIV is all about dancing dodge those visual queue avoid getting hit that may kill you while doing your own satisfied powerful combo. So, Hard? This fight is not on easy side but not the hardest. Note that it has 2 difficulty, The "Extreme" as one of the hardest content casual player would do, And "Salvage" which casual would skip but also just a step for hardcore player to reach higher level of difficulty.
But either way, How cool it is to dancing around these flashy thunder with this energetic electronic track. Think about that.
Oh yes, my handsome centaur with his amazing theme 🖤
jesse the more you talk the more i think you'd love XIV, but i'm a walking ad like the rest of the XIV community.
I love Shadowbangers. 🤩
This is a remix of Ramuh's original theme from the first time you fight him. I feel like you might have listened to it? Which could explain the familiar lyrics. Can't remember though haha
e5s was my statics worst fight to reclear during that tier. Always felt like we wiped to him so many times, and then easily one shot 6/7 >_< thanks for the react Jesse!
You can get him as a mount. That is, if you can keep from being brutally murdered because you got caught up in the jam. lol
basicly its a remix of the ff14 Ramuh theme.
The lyrics (and the vocals as a whole) are taken from the original Ramuh theme, Thunder Rolls. As much as I enjoy Twice Stricken and how energetic it is, I prefer the sound of Thunder Rolls, myself.
When you say the lyrics look familiar… If you listen to normal Ramuh's theme, Thunder Rolls, it is the same lyrics. This is a remix of Thunder Rolls for the Eden Raid Series version of Ramuh. Hence also the title "Twice Striken" Cause in this case, Lightning has struck twice with the track. The short story is, this raid takes place after Shadowbringers, and some of the characters wish to start restoring the places lost to the Flood of Light, and part of the way you do that is to restore the flow of elemental aether in the world by summoning each representative being of each element and defeating them to reawaken the flow of that element. Each primal you fight though is reshaped by 1.) your experiences since fighting the primals originally and 2.) Zenos points out in Endwalker that you seek out challenges for their own sake, so while Thancred explicitly told you to conjure weaker fights, your character goes against this by summoning stronger versions. Ramuh is combined with the Lightning Unicorn Ixion.
The conversation with Zenos at the very very end really highlights WHY the Heritors were so much stronger than the original Primals. Because you wanted a challenge. Your character didn't have interest in fighting the same thing they'd already fought, they wanted a new challenge. This series of fights really symbolizes why "That I Cannot Deny" is the only worthy response to Zenos.
So like the other Heritor fights, this is a remix/reimagining of older bosses. Particularly this is a fusion of Ramuh – a sagely wizard type – and Ixion – a lightning unicorn – with the music likewise being a remix of Ramuh's theme. And of those fights, Ramuh got the best visual upgrade.
I think this track could work in a sonic the Hedgehog level theme too
You know, the funny problem that 14 has is that Soken puts out some SERIOUSLY amazing songs and it kind desensitizes you to the other songs. Like, this song is amazing, but it took me a year or two for me to even realize "hey this is a really great song" because I was so stuck on his other songs.
From Half man-Half Beard to Centaur Zeus Ramuh evolved to really huge point!
People have mentioned the normal version plenty,so I´s like to mention another version of the base Ramuh track:the pulse remix ,which is,I kid you not, electric swing.
Another fun fact about this fight is that the setting of it is a direct reference to the Thunder Plains from Final Fantasy X, where funnily enough, the lightning summon from that game was the horse Ixion, that may or may not be why Ramuh is a centaur.
What i think about this bos… Painfully kb
The amount this song slaps is f-ing ILLEGAL.
Twice Stricken is a remix of the theme of Ramuh, a primal (god) that we fought back in 2.0. The original theme is “Thunder Rolls” and is much more traditional in terms of fantasy music, feature light instrumentals and harmonizing vocals. https://youtu.be/MDG1rIz1S7k (Not a Rick Roll I promise!)
SPOILERS FOR EDEN!!
Basically in this storyline we are tasked with restoring the elements to a land that is devoid of them, so one primal at a time we recall, reconstruct and fight them to release these elements back into the lands. Ramuh is the thunder god of the sylphs, and apparently the main character remembers him as a centaur dad with wings and a wicked beard.
The music sounds “remixed” because it’s built from our memories of the fight, not exactly the same as the fight itself, just important mechanics and themes stitched together in an more intense setting.
The lyrics are from the Ramuh fight from realm reborn I think
What a friggin bop
I dont think you've done the Ruby weapon theme also known as the Ultima theme from the Primals' Scions and Sinners soundtrack.
all the eden raid themes are amazing imo this is the 5th boss
In XIV, we faced 2 bosses everytime we enter this kind of encounter. One is the stage's boss, and another is Soken-san (the composer) keeps distracting our focus with his epic music.
Honestly EDM is all I get out of this boss, I can imagine rolling up on a Dance Club and this playing through the walls.
I think you were pretty close to realizing where you might have heard the lyrics from from. I don't remember if you reacted to it or not, but there's a song called "Thunder Rolls" that this song is a remix of due to the boss being a sort of remix of Ramuh himself, so it features a lot of the same lyrics.
Personally I love this fight, the music is good and the fight itself is really fun, a lot of movement and dodging and having to pay attention to the map, it really keeps you on your toes for the whole fight.
If you like mythology then check hades boss 🙂
Heh mythology. They went ham with greek mythology in the current expansion and it keeps going
I would really recommend tsukuyomi trials music with transitions and all. Its a masterpiece of mixing up music and story
This song (and your reaction to it) is really awesome! Also, I LOVE the purple streaks in your hair! Rad looks, man.
