#FFXIV #FinalFantasy14 #Reaction
source
If i remember correctly Koji Fox the lead translator for FFXIV came up with these lyrics when they were under a massive time crunch and he was delirious from the lack of sleep that's why some of the lyrics is pure nonesense.
YO! You playing rhythem games at round one?
Yoooo I'm the dmc guy lol, while your in your ff grind, let's suggest somme dmc classics ^^ dmc3 vergil has 3 short Themes 1,2,3 u could react to them all in a video and rate witch u liked the best? Would be super cool and changes up the formula a little fore that extra spice 🔥
This one is one of my favorites. Still waiting reacts to "Wayward Daughter" and "Revenge Twofold". Pretty sure those haven't been reacted to yet. 🙂
The moment you started reacting to anything FF14 related, you opened a floodgate and doomed yourself
Maybe one day you will have reacted to every single track in the game. Maybe in 2031
This was all over the place but somehow still good. I don't get how they did that lol
FF XIV Spoilers:
To make it short: Alexander is an artificial being close to be called a god who can control time. He calculates infinite futures and decided that he is the biggest threat to the world. Because he absorbs energy from the world that is needed to keep the world going. So he tries to stop himself and there is a couple involved to, you learn more of their story throughout the raid. The climax is that the couple imprisoned themself with Alexanders core in an infinite time loop so he never is able the return again.
Sticking the peas i the freezer
Taking the peas in the season
Eating my reeses pieces, sticking the peas in the freezer
3:48 Soken once used a Cardboard box under his Piano as a drum.
With all of these Rise is the next logical song to do.
Oh man when he gets to RISE
So my interpretation of the random/experimental drums is this: Alexander is a giant machine and runs entirely on logic, like a computer. It could just be me, but the drums and the distortion sounds a lot like an old, 90s PC booting up, and the static/clicking noises they would make.
When we first come to Alexander raids, this music is jamming and pumping, and crazy lyrics are great into delivering the feel of the place. There are so many Alexander related themes, but they are all connected in a sense. And I love synth parts here 🙂
Thanks man!
Ooooh Ive been waiting for this one.. Good for you that your channel and patreon is popping off. You have such a chill energy and you deserve the succes!
LOCUS! One of my favorites.
First time hearing this doing the first boss was very “wtf is this music, it’s weird and iam starting to like it!”
The live version of this song is really good also.
Caught it in this video, almost all boss themes are 4-5 minutes long and most are seamless loops for 10-15 minutes fights.
Really fun reacts, glad you're enjoying Soken's work :>
A banger
Aaah finally! Really love that you finally reacted to this song, easily one of my faves! Thank you for doing these videos! Now for a recommendation I do suggest "Landslide" from this game also
so regarding Alexander…
its is a gigantic living machine, iirc it was build to create utopia? but hey its a living time travel robot that demed its own existence a thread to the planet and the purpose it was build for.
So if my brain isnt messing up it freezed itself in a pocket of space/time and lies dormant there?
It's been a while since I played that story…
but also yesyes you should really listen to "Rise" because that is the song that plays when you fight "Alexander Prime"
and for the part where u said that its really experimental… this raid came out in the expansion where we ended a 100 year war between whats essentially elves and just a "few" thousand dragons
All these fights take place inside Alexander, he’s big asf
I absolutely love the Alexander raid music, it is electronic and catchy fitting with Alexander's theme of machineries.
I love your reactions, this is such an earnest reaction, all the tracks from this raid are amazing, I would love to see you go forward and back and then forward and back and go one step forward <wink, wink> with these reactions. You're amazing mate, love from and thanks from India!
And this time you get the message "out of place"
That drum. And a giant castle steam punk robot in fantasy world. They both "out of place"
Infected Mushroom is the GOAT!
Soken loves to use non-convential/homemade instruments in his songs as well. In place of a traditional rattle/maraca he just put some thumbtacks into a ramen cup and shook it for example. Also when playing a piano concert during Fan Fest in place of normal percussion he just kicked a box to the beat he had set up under the piano.
I think this song is very polarizing for people who raid The Epic of Alexander (Ultimate), they either fall in love with it or start to utterly despise of it.
I definetly am part of the former ^^
so this is the music from a series of raids. in this raid you are fighting a time travel cult comprised of steampunk goblins. I credit the experimental nature of this raid to that context
Been watching a lot of your FFXIV reacts recently, and it's given me an even bigger appreciation of the love I have for the game's music and for Soken's, frankly absurd, range as a composer. The man could decide he wanted to make a track entirely out of soundbites made from kicking over the office garbage can, and it'd be an absolute banger.
If you want some songs that are lovely, slower pieces you could check out Sands of Amber and Neath Dark Waters. They're two of my favourites from the Shadowbringers expansions, heavy on piano but I love them.
Locus is such a bop, purely because…. it's got such a nice beat and flow to it, that quite a few classes when you're actually fighting the bosses that play this song actually feel like you're pressing buttons to the flow of the beat; it's SO MUCH FUN!! Alexander is one of those places you go into and go "yeah it's just a big robo- OH MY GOOOOOOOOOD????" You got robots forming voltron in there, an incredible story, dope ass fights and music that you have to actually like… try hard to not nod your head along to or you can screw up and die because you were jamming out too hard LMAO.
I'm still relatively new, and it astounds me that like…. every raid I go into, every fight I participate in has music that is just wildly different from another places. This also applies to zones and dungeons – there this one place I got to and got dropped kicked by the community meme "twinning" which is a dungeon but has music that goes HARD from the SECOND you zone in. General advice for twinning is as such:
"first time here, what do I do?"
"turn the music up"
Ayyyy, Infected Mushroom – Saeed! I already said on another video of yours (Which you hearted <3) that it's my favourite song by them, and I absolutely know what you're getting at by comparing them! 🙂
Just found this channel and absolutely loving the content, i have always loved to see people react especially to the music and cinematics, especially if its about my favourite game FFXIV :D, Keep up the good work! Ah i would love to see you react to the Ultima primals version and both Ramuh themes, i quess we shall see what the future holds :d
