  1. Looking at your stream from FF VII you definitely have time for XIV 🙂 there is no grind while going through the story and the game is made for you to take your time. If you decide to give it a shot it Will be a wonderfull Day 😀 also another great reaction <3

  2. Flow is about the end, that "brave little spark" is someone's soul and she's welcoming them back to "the flow" which is the cycle of rebirth. She's singing about how she's observed their life and found joy in it, but it's time for them to be reborn and asks to greet the new souls who are about to be born. Basically you got it right: she's singing as an angel-like entity welcoming a newly passed away soul back to the lifestream.

  3. My best summary of the emotional context of this song, without explaining a big long jrpg plot:

This is a song sung directly to you, the listener. The character singing has loved you since long before you were born, and has guided and protected you throughout your adventures. Her voice is the first thing you hear when you start your journey and by the time you hear this song, many quests and dungeons and expansions later, she's passed on.

  4. I cannot put it into words how incredible this song makes you feel when you finish Endwalker.

If you do nothing but story (which you can do almost completely solo), you can catch up relatively quickly.

I've been waiting for this reaction for soo long.
    Great video as always.😊👍🏻

  5. FFXIV is singularly unique as an MMO. An hour here, an hour there is really the bare minimum to begin your journey through Eorzea. The story is a long term investment that narratively builds over the course of several expansions, but this is the important part: the story is not going to change. If you started in 2013, you have the story of ARR. If you start today, you’re experiencing the refined gameplay experience of ARR, but the story is still the same.

Bottom line, this game doesn’t demand your entire day, week, or life to experience. Do it as you want to, and eventually you will be where veterans are, experiencing FLOW for yourself with the weight of 10 years of narrative behind it.

  6. As someone who joined late to the FF14 party let me tell you: there is never a "too late to join" for FF14. It's gonna take time, (but so does a playthrough of FF7 so… all in due time) and that's a good thing because it takes room to breathe and set up details that are important later.

  7. I call this "Mom's song" because just…its basically our in-game mom welcoming us, proud of us, and sending us out on a new journey as she passes on.

  8. It's really amazing how much music can communicate… your description of the song is so perfectly on point even including what you know you're missing there, just wow

  9. I think the best way to describe what you are feeling is that bittersweet feeling of saying goodbye to a friend who is moving on in their life to bigger and better things. You may not see them again, but you know that your life was better for having them in it for however long it was. A thankful sadness that you wouldn't trade the world for.

  10. Piano is my favorite instrument, glad you mentioned it here <3

It's been six months and this song still makes me weep openly every time I hear it. I'm so glad to hear that the essence of the song comes through so strongly for you even without context.

  11. All what people said and even more, that was the Flow is for us 😉
It's a hope and sadness, welcoming and farewell, soft and hard hitting, mixing and melding all we felt

  12. I get it, FF14 has grown to be something that has to be expierienced, it didnt start that way but certainly is now.
Theres very few games that I would say can enter the Zeitgeist of the medium.
FF7, Skyrim, Minecraft, Fortnight (ugh), World of Warcraft (old), just to name a few, games that shape what we perceive Videogames can be.

  13. If you feel strongly like the game would resonate with you and you want to play… I think you would be able to find time for it and you should play 🙂 You've seen enough of the "heart" of the game through the music you've reviewed over time that you're not feeling that way without reason. If you have an hour or two here or there to play, that honestly can be enough for this game. I've played it for 10 years, and I play it too many hours each day, but if you are the type of person that doesn't have as much free time and is just playing the game primarily for the story, a couple of hours here and there until you get through it will do. It's not the kind of game where you have to grind levels or gear or currency (for the most part) if you're just doing main story quest stuff – that stuff will come naturally as you complete the content. Taking it a few hours at a time will put you on an extremely slow roll through the MSQ – probably months to a year at least to complete it, honestly – but I really think it will be worth it.

I get this "feeling" about stuff sometimes too, that I know it will be important to me if I engage with it. It's never been wrong so far. I think you would not regret experiencing the story of this game… I certainly have never been, and I think most people would also say the same.

  14. It is very different from Answer, which you got everything right. You really need to know the story to know why you are frustrated.
The feelings and interpretations, are so true, and that might be it is your time to try the game

  16. This song is about dying, and your soul entering the aetherial sea to meet Hydaelyn to reflect on your life and give your soul rest, before eventually reincarnating into life.

  17. The music never fails to get me really emotional listening to it. It signifies an end of an era, about letting go, about reconciling with loss and despair, but the most important thing of all to remain hopeful and optimistic about the future and what could come.

  18. Amanda Achen sat and got interviewed over on Marcomeatball's Channel. He does a similar thing to you with Music Reactions, but he comes at it from the perspective of a Former Opera Singer. You guys would get along. But she was very charming and had some interesting things to say about Flow.

Also, I cannot listen to Flow without crying… I am overcome with emotion every time for a number of reasons, but I cried even listening to it this time through. And I will cry the next time I hear it.

And it's really hard to explain the full power and context of the track… We can explain situations, but to TRULY understand the experience, you have to play through A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker. All of the game builds toward a few specific moments in Endwalker, though every major story line has exceptional moments with incredibly gravity.

  19. The fact that you get hit by this song without any context speaks volume. We got hit hard by this. Even the vocal, Amanda, had to stop recording to cry…that is how emotional this song is

    Also Jessie: nails the feeling

    AGAIN! You're a boss!

As what everybody else has said, Yoshi P and Team specifically makes this game for people who do not have time to dedicate to a lot. He actively encourages people to stop in content droughts, play during the time they want, etc. So if you want to join us, please do. Its free from 1-60 anyway. We are a great community, we have bards that play concerts in towns, people who dance together, lots of events put on by the community. You'd be very welcome and probably would love it.
