  1. Oh. For some reason I remembered the live version of Return to Oblivion was the Primals' version. Either I'm misremembering or they did twice xD But Amanda and Keiko is just beautiful <3
I know a few people who didn't like this very much as it's more or less a remix of Oblivion and they liked that one more, but I'm in camp Return to Oblivion is more my jam!
As for the live version, I'm still impressed that piano and vocals weren't in the same space due to pandemic restrictions – and yet it was pulled of so well!

    That shoutout xD But thanks!

  2. Return to Oblivion is one of my top FFXiV tracks, and this version just slays. Amanda is ridiculously good, hence why the female vocals for Shadowbringers and Endwalker are all done by her. Ridiculously good rendition

  3. Original vocalist was Reven. Definitely more pop in style compared to Amanda's more operatic vocals. Official piano arrangement albums are common for FF games but I don't think they had done piano+vocals before. I like it!

  4. I love this performance, absolutely beautiful but I think the original version works better in game. This version wouldn't work as well as a loop in battle, since it wasn't designed to loop.

Both KEIKO and Amanda are amazing performers.

The lack of crowd reaction was due to the pandemic and this being a live-streamed performance with the audience just being employee and crew members.

  5. Yeah keiko and amanda achen were just absolutely fire at fanfest. Amanda's actually not the original vocalist, she did special versions of this and What Angel Wakes Me with keiko for Scions and Sinners, the shadowbringers arranged album.

  6. As a piano player I really appreciate these versions ❤️❤️. Usually final fantasy piano are very complex compared to the original and I always appreciate the challenge to play. Amanda absolute is an absolute goddess 😻

  7. For me, the ingame version {played at a faster pace} matched the urgency of the fight. The fanfest version, with it's slower pacing, helps bring out the sad story behind the song.

  8. A reminder came to my head with you coming back and listening to some of the XIV stuff, and that was, we never actually finished the Alexander arc, as whilst I don't know if others have recommended either or if they're somewhere down the line, but Rise and Mobius both never came up, and really solidify the variety that all of Alexander brought (Mobius being phase 1 Alexander, as well as final phase Epic of Alexander (the Perfected) whilst Rise being the phase 2 Alexander Prime/phase 3 Epic of Alexander)

  9. RTO is one of my fav songs in FF14 as a whole and I never heard this version… I tuned in here to listen to it alongside you for the first time and ended up crying lol. Totally different vibe yet retained the beauty of it. This time the lyrics and the piano were the stars, leaving the urgency behind and presenting how meaningful the song is; both to the characters and to us, the players.

  10. I’m pretty sure she also sings Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Flow from the new expansion (I would wait for official audio before reacting to that which comes out this month at some point. Many of the versions in youtube are kinda bad or they get taken down)
