  1. FFXIV toxicity is very mean girls repurtation destruction from a position of weekness. Rumors, gossip, and organizing people against you behind closed doors. Very cloak and dagger.

  2. HOW are people not tired of this??? Seriously Despi?
    1. Its COMMUNITY SUPPORT NOT COMMUNITY which means AWARD for developer support, so NOT BEST COMMUNITY AWARD
2.Its of course there are TOXIC people in the community because its made of people!

I never claimed nor hid my head in the sand that there are no people toxic af. One more thing people do is have an incident and then perceive the whole community is like that! THIS IS COMMON IN ALL GAMES!!

TOXICITY is about facing this issue on regular basis on more areas, different random people- not on a specific are with few people involved.
AGAIN not claiming that its perfect or close to that BUT CMON you always will meet great persons as well shitty people ONLINE Aswell IRL!

  3. you dont quite seem to understand how bad the toxicity is. whatever you seem to think it is. seriously: multiply it by at least 300. its just far worse. its literally so bad people aren't willing to go into specifics. ffxiv IS 100% more toxic than any other MMO i've ever played. you talked about the good stuff happening.. where? i haven't seen it. nor has anyone i know seen this. all i hear is about toxic experiences people have. theres so many degenerate and just awful people in this games RP community. i dont really think you can say its not that bad if you aren't really in it and don't see how bad it is.

  4. you can't really judge it by looking at people interacting with other people, nobody knows what really happend between them and most of the time you only get one side of the story.
what you can look at is how random people interact with each other as a group, as an example – yesterday a normal fate in eureaka pyros popped and at the same time a person died in a really bad spot. for most other game it would have been normal to just kill the fate and ignore the dead person but in that case 20+ people waited for the person to get resurrected and join the fate.
that is what makes a great community

  5. I am always very tolerant towards players like those that type CAPS in alliance chat like omg you sprouts r bad, typing suggestive nonsense in limsa general chat etc. Met a duo in df, drg and TEA drk. Was a whm having a really TOUGH time healing that particular drk despite me running that dungeon like 50 times for glam farm previously without issue. Realized he did not used a SINGLE mit all this while, Politely told him abt it and guess what. His buddy told me to git gud, drk kept quiet. Perfect legend my foot.

  6. You several times are more likely to be vocal about a negative experience than a slightly positive one. I can count on my fingers the number of times I ended up in a duty with toxic players since 2017. I will always remember those runs way easier than the other thousands of runs where the experience was just a smooth run where everyone just played the game. I do agree though that toxic minority needs to be called out for their behavior.

  7. If you stick with story and normal difficult content in the game, you're probably not going to see a lot of toxicity in FFXIV.

The leveling content is super easy and the rules are very strict. Most dungeons and trials you won't even see people saying anything as most people are afraid of giving advice on how to play a class.

If you go into PvP people will make fun of anyone that tries to be a little bit more engaged with it, since everyone is only there for the roulete exp and they are not interested in winning anyway.

But the moment you touch on endgame, FC stuff or RP you will see a lot of toxicity, just like any other MMORPG out there, and it's pretty ugly. It has nothing to do with ex-WoW players.

  8. meh its humanity in general. as a whole for limited interactions the community is great. but once you pin down one person and interact for a long time you surely will eventually run into disagreements.

  9. I find the FFXIV subreddit to be an extremely toxic place. Yes it 's reddit but it does seep into the game as well. If you give out helpful advise without criticizing or even just having a different opinion they see it as an attack against the entire community and do everything they can to downvote you unto oblivion. As an example a topic was brought up about the best expac story and I stated my personal order is (Just storywise) is HW, ShB, Post AAR quests, SB, AAR then EW. The amount of negative and hateful comments I received because I thought (and still feel the same way) that EW story was overall not very good was insane. If I was a new player just reading that I would have probably avoided the game

  10. Once you expierenced the depths of party finder and try to put some critic out there to this game or if you break the extremly limited roleplay rules. Once you have done this steps you unleashed the seven hells of ffxiv.

  11. I was surprised to see my friends who also come from wow be super agressive in dungeon chat at the slightest thing, and taking the "lol lalafell bad i'm playing racist, it's a joke but it's kinda not though" to a really obnoxious and systematic degree, like every single time a lalafell appears on screen from level 1 to 90.

Sure i've run into some weirdos and annoying people in xiv, but aside from pvpers that really love to be dicks just to show off how awesome and skilled they are compared to you lowly trash, that culture of taking pleasure from being an asshole to others is definitely a wow thing.

  12. the award for "best community" has nothing to do with the playerbase, but how the game and developers communicate and respond to them. Ive noticed that a lot of the drama centers around more of the RP/club scene and whenever you get a group of people together, eventually theyre just gonna be shitty and create drama in bizarre ways. I think the problem is everyone keeps touting the line of "best community 🥰" that instantly gives an idea that we're a all sugar and hugs, when honestly we're not because when you get such a large group of people together from different walks of life, there will always be negativity even in smaller doses.

  13. i do think the ff14 community is very toxic but they can feign ignorance bc they do it passive aggressively. I agree with the house builder that id rather have ppl just straight up be toxic and just be fake asf. when i point this both in an out of the game ppl always compare to wow but they dont understand that its both are toxic on the opposite sides of the spectrum

  14. SORRY BUT IMMA COMPLAIN ABOUT AN EXPERIENCE I HAD

I've definitely dealt with the toxic side of this community before (Not all the time but seeing others getting treated like this WAY TOO MANY TIMES). I do my best not to fuck up in raids and dungeons but damn the minute I did they damn near crucified me for not using LB on a certain enemy that was giving them trouble and that thing was never a problem before. BTW we were in there for a long time and I was beginning to get exhausted for dealing with these clowns. The funniest part was seeing these two healers and a tank, who wouldn't stop talking shit on chat the minute they got in this trial (Like gossiping teens that that you see from every high school movie and kept bringing random crap up) that not only kept getting swept up by Levianthans boat tilt and dying to basic shit, they had the nerve to say I was throwing in the second to last try (Even tho I was always the last one alive). When we were in our last trial (Me and the rest of the DPS clutched because of course these fuckers kept dying). They kept calling me out personally when everyone was saying their goodbyes "Goodbye (Insert my name here)" like if I was the one who kept fucking up. Part of me feels like these guys were obviously just jealous but the way they treated everyone in there and me even though I was doing things perfectly, kinda showed me that this game has a almost "entitled" form of toxicity to it. Ever since than, I've only noticed it more and more.
