QoL Features You Overlooked in 6.3 | FFXIV

Is there a particular QoL that has you jumping for joy? I think I’m most excited about the waymarks, the glamour dresser stuff, and the Island Sanctuary updates (which I didn’t mention since it seems everyone already knows — no more clicking 20x to collect leavings and crops).

  1. Very informative! I think videos like this are very useful. While a lot of content creators do cover these updates, it's usually mixed in with everything else. So videos that separate them out are very handy for the people who done read over patch notes.

  2. For the camera pivot thing: when island sanc first came out, gathering nodes close together could make people motion sick(me included). It was the little camera jerk befor you gathered your item.
I think its supposed to help reduce motion sickness in some situations where you have to click on the field a lot or a LOT of stuff is happening at once.

  3. It still makes me smile at how many people are absolutely stunned when I tell them about the auto function for umbrella fashion items (auto enable during rain, auto disable when you go indoors, or the rain stops).😅

  4. That retainer one makes me so happy! I literally wanted to re-glam my retainers the past week and didn't even notice they added this. 🥺 You just saved my sanity with this video, thank you. 😂❤️

  5. The "disable right-click on players during battle" is especially useful because many people (including myself), turn the camera by holding down right-click, so this option allows you to click anywhere instead of having to focus and click on an empty spot on your screen.

  6. Did we pique Aitherea’s curiosity in Eureka? Mayhaps 👀😂

Also those retainer changes are super cool, I’ve definitely thought about a function like that in the past. Now I just wish there was a way to simplify the process for keeping your retainers gear up to speed. Leveling multiple retainers is a huge pain 😅

  7. Doing P7S as RPR, I always teleport to the second platform for inviolate bonds stack/spread, and then usually use my return teleport to get back to the south platform once it’s resolved. Since my camera would be far ahead of the original location and turned towards the boss while attacking, using this return portal would fling my camera around wildly to align with the end destination behind me, which looked funny but could be quite disorienting. The new “disable camera pivot” feature fixes this and keeps my camera facing the same direction it originally was while yeeting back. o/

  8. 3:36 The QoL regarding cam pivot is that if you were auto running the cam would always be trying to reset itself to neutral if you werent holding a mouse button down to hold the cam where you wanted it. This change is huuuuuuuge QoL for PvPers using legacy. Allows us to look around while moving and without fighting the cam/ trying to click specific targets.

  9. Camera pivot is referring to the rotation of the camera when moving left and right with legacy controls. this results in you walking a circle around the camera's position as it rotates, rather than walking in a straight line left or right. Disabling this pivot makes the camera no longer rotate when moving left or right, allowing you to walk in straight lines in those directions relative to where you are looking without having to manually maintain your camera angle in order to do so.

This is for Legacy movement. If you let go of the mouse completely (dont hold right click and dont gold left click) and move around, the camera automatically rotates slightly. This options disables the auto rotation

  11. just wanted to add that the camera pivot disable is also a godsend for controllers imo. its great in fights and the open world. i always wanted to look at the surroundings when mounted and the camera would just yank itself forward. great option

  12. camera pivot disables the camera turning while you are holding the left and right buttons in Legacy controls. try holding left and toggling it off and on, you should see the difference.

  13. Gshade lighting color was also changed right? I remember for lighting colors we had 1-10 for each RGB section but now it's a more specific value of 0-255

  14. Another thing to know about the retainer duplicate thing as well as if you have an accidental double stack duplication of the same item and will also put that double stack duplication item into a single stack if possible.

  15. 3:20 as a controller player, I love this, holding to the left/right would still slightly turn your camera so you aren't actually just walking left/right, but your also turning slighty. Readjusting my camera just to move so I could move slightly left because of this was SO annoying, now I don't have to anymore 😀

I notice you using esuna on an uncleansable debuff, just thought youd like to know that if a debuff can be esunad there will be a small bar on top of the icon indicating so.

You can see this here for example.
