  1. I can't think of many games in modern gaming where they properly write a strong female character like Hydaelyn in FF14. She's not one of those Mary Sue or goes on macho to look tough. Rather she is a mother figure who loves and protects their children. A feminine figure we seldom get now in entertainment.

  2. See pint or others getting emotional makes me exited for my friend when ff16 will come out.
As a non FF 14 player he doesnt understand the hype that yoshida and his CBU3 are working at 16. And always looks at me and my ff14 playing friends when we just tear up hearing some ff14 tracks.
And we just sit their "you will cry like us at some point in FF16".
And lets be honest, ishikawa will make us cry again we allready know it and there is nothing we can do about it

  3. Hey LuLu, Pint has used the same character for a very long time, even back when he played WoW, maybe even longer, he is invested emotionally to his little Pint, this is why the death of (we all know who) hit him so hard, I feel bad for him for the hell Pint is going to go through, & jealous at the same time.

At the end here he was searching for a word to explain it & thought a single word could never do it, "bittersweet", they wanted release from this role they took on, & to know their star was in good hands.

I have noticed that those that relate with the character they created are hit the hardest by 6.0. I made the mistake of modeling mine after a real life loved one, that was my hero that past away way to young, there was nothing bittersweet about it… the end of 6.0 hit me like a sledgehammer, to the point I was thinking of going to a therapist … not because of the game, but what the game pointed out to me, what I've had buried away all of these years & never wanted to deal with, but real life isn't a game, we got to learn to handle what we're dealt.

  4. It's been a dark few years, and to have a story remind you in genuine, heartfelt terms that having hope for the future isn't foolish or naïve is something many of us needed, whatever our reasons. I'm always glad when I hear people say that they experienced something at the time they needed to – I've heard people say similar things about Celeste, for example – and I'm honestly glad Pint found that with our weird little stupid weeb game.

…even if he completely wrecked my team in Onsal a couple weeks ago. It's fine, I'm not bitter.

  5. Pint saying "I needed this game so bad" is exactly how I felt playing Endwalker. I had just quit a really, really toxic job that I'd had for 6 years (worked all through COVID doing 3 people's work) and I was taking 6 months off because I was so terribly burnt out and that lined up with Endwalker's delayed launch. Endwalker helped me so much it was unbelievable. FFXIV is an incredible game with a mostly incredible community and we're lucky to have streamers like Pint for the game.
