  1. meaningful monk change is only the opopo change?

did you just completely gloss over the raptor and coeurl going down by 1 each? your skills went from 2/3/4 (full cycle of that form. so the buff and the full consumption of it) to 2/2/3 . . EW monk was 2/2/3, which basically puts us on EW monk playstyle. The opo-opo change was kind of needed on DK, or you force a dK > BS > x > x rotation. Which some people may like, some won't. but the whole 3 raptors and 4 couerl cycle was kind of akward.

monk as a whole will play a fair bit smoother rn me thinks. and the numbers seem to line up as a net buff, even compared to the dk > bs > x > x optimal rotation. meaning the only thing that realistically happened from DT > EW, was replacing a dot, and a buff with giving an activated ability to our riddles. where beforehand, the job didn't even play in the same realm of feel. . . i think at least

  2. The point of the AST change to macrocosmos is so that it's DPS neutral, luke SGE's Pneuma.
The reason for the monk changes is because of DKboot, which was literally spam Dragon kick and Bootshine while only doing lunar nadi for your ENTIRE ROTATION

  3. Black mage needs rework from the ground up. It feels horrible to do rotation with flare star held hostage at 100, horrible to do aoe pre-100, and horrible for everything before 80. Potency buffs alone won't help.

  4. Viper changes are what they said, but the changes talked about for directionals and business were supposed to come in 7.05. These were just the easy ones they could do right off.

  5. Their previous viper message was read more as "we will move where certain positionals are" rather than remove positionals so chances are they are more moving where certain flank and rear positionals are instead which wouldn't be on said changes page. My guess is they would make it so 1 is always 1 positional and 2 is always the other positional.

  6. the changes for viper can still happen they were talking about potionals being adjusted not nessisarily removed also for ast the pot buff for macro was to make it dps neutral since it was a dps loss and less likely to be wanted for fights

  7. Why would the new ring be controversial? The mechanic is already in the game, it's just made easier to see that the target is omni-directional and that positionals don't matter.

  8. As a monk main im glad they reduced the number of orbs needed for the added dps, the rotation just became a mess as a result and the weaker potency didnt help so im actually looking forward to seeing how it feels now

  9. I don't think making the GCD longer will make the job feel less busy. they will likely remove some of the ogcds, if I had to hazard a guess the positionals on the dual blades will get removed and the ogcd at the end of their combo finisher will get removed.

  10. On the potency changes, I thought the same thing – until I played around with my MNK this morning. My AOE's were hitting for about 4,000 (5.000 on crits) and now they're hitting for 5,000 (6,000 on crits). At the higher levels, it MATTERS.

  11. As far as Viper goes, Yoshi P DID SAY that they would be adjusting the range of certain attacks in 7.01 while making changes to actions in 7.05 but people seem to have forgotten that part.

  12. I’ll bet the new target ring is something they’ve introduced for normal modes that they can choose to not use in savage. It’s interesting because it means that the devs don’t need to go 100% one way or another when designing fights and can go crazier with mechs that would make positionals dangerous to go for in extended stretches.

  13. SE already said something to the effect of "we maybe reacted too quick to feedback" after the mentioned relaxing positionals some time ago. Basically they saw the two opposing opinions in the forums (remove positionals and leave positionals) and opted to listen to the rest of us that were saying "its only been 2 weeks, let it cook some more before you act"

  14. The World of Warcraft class balance team are working for Square now. Buffing OP jobs and nerfing weak jobs and at the same time – making everyrhing easier to appease the snowflake drama queen forum users.

  15. I main Viper at 100, it's not hard, if you don't want to figure it out, just hit the glowing buttons, use some True North and you're good. If you can't do that, play another job. There are two directional actions, and they cannot be removed without completely striping Viper, and soon enough all melee DPS of directionals. How far are we going to let this simplification of jobs go?!

  16. BLM getting Umbral Soul at 35 now is huge, no more transposing just to stay in a state when there's downtime, you can prep UI3 and immediately go in to Fire Phase when combat starts again in most content now.

  17. Monk changes feels like the rotation is set back to the end walker rotation. Which is fine it means I go back to that muscle memory.

Only real change from it I see beyond the obvious no more dot and dps buff, is that it looks like we use raptor style for when we need to do 3 of the same style for the lunar nadi
