Patch 6.1 revealed a dark future we've yet to face, FFXIV Lore Breakdown

There are so many FF4 references in this one patch it’s enough to make my head spin! But if we follow the trail we’ve already got a good idea of where the story might be headed in the future! Only time will tell if my predictions prove true. So I hope everyone is as excited as I am!

  1. I felt really awkward as a reaper while they talked about how dangerous voidsent are and that we cannot allow them to enter our world under any circumstances and we shouldn't make pacts with them. I was really hoping for like 1 line of optional dialogue where reapers are adressed because…. Y'shtola saw me using a voidsent in the dungeon soo. Technically the trusts should know I carry one of them in my pocket :3 I felt like my character needed to mention that maybe in an optional dialogue choice haha

  2. Seeing a follow up to your lord of the twelve video would be awesome 🤩

There were some things in the first raid that caught me off guard but I have my own suspicions of who might be in the second alliance raid in this chain

  3. Thanks for the breakdown Professor Scribe!

Also I love that it feels like Syndonic Scribe is this Random Sharlayan researcher/professor that just records all his lectures instead of speaking in front of a class.

Makes me want for whenever there is a Q&A video for him to hold it in the Sharlayan Classrooms.

  4. Why I did saw it a mile away when they tossed into us that void quest in shadowbringers? Btw, mark my words, the next big bad will be some sort of shadowlord and this guy will be one of Azem Soul´s fragments :V

  5. I'm not actually so sure this version of Golbez is a Voidsent, or at least a typical Voidsent. Namely I say this, because at one point he talked about "Redeeming their Star" Which would seem to suggest that his Goal is to Restore the 13th, which would presumably either restore or banish the Voidsent, or at least make the Star a far less hospital place for them to Dwell. No, my theory is that Golbez and his generals are the heroes that used Auracite and were twisted by it, thus dooming their world to becoming an inhospitable Void. My guess is that, although they are corrupted, the desire to save their world is still in there somewhere, but has likely become twisted to the point where they're willing to carry out all sorts of atrocities to be able to do it.

That's just my guess anyway. Obviously I could be very-very wrong about this, but seeing as FFIV Golbez had a redemption arch, and how he could've played the role of Cecil had he not succumbed to dark influence, I suspect this Golbez is probably going to mirror that.

  6. The MSQ for 6.1 makes me wonder if the Four Fiends will be the next Trial series for Endwalker. It’s either that or they save them for 7.0. I’m astonished by how the devs are going all out with FF4 refs in this expac.

  7. Voidsent guy is looking for a hero. Connection to Zenos.
Leaves unlimited possibilities of Zenos reappearing and more lore about him. I tell you that voidsent is gonna fuse with us and we Become SonGoku+Vegeta WoL+Zenos.

  8. One thing I noticed is, like how IV Golbez is Cecil’s brother, it’s possible that XIV Golbez is the WoL’s brother in a way, as the Void’s shard of Azem. I wanted to point this out bc Meteor went from Dark Knight to Paladin, specifically referencing FF4.

  9. When Endwalker's story was opening itself up to us, I expected some bizarre boss at the end like Zemus/Zeromus. I really hope with Golbez now we might get closer to that 😀

  10. How about the Reaper Spirit possibly being Zemus? The more you think about it, the more it fits. It could be controlling Golbez just like it did in 4, and once the Archfiends and Shadow Dragon are defeated, he's free from it's control. And he can help us defeat the inevitable Zeromus which will be the final boss of post Endwalker. And Vrtra fighting his sister would be amazing and super symbolic of Mist Dragon fighting the Shadow Dragon.

  11. Subscribed sir, excellent stuff, I love ff4 watched my big brother play and beat it in the 90”s and seeing golbez sent chills down my spine and those elementals. I’m now super psyched at what’s to come!!!

  12. There is a big chance that the voidsent leader Azdaja was gunning for was Cloud of Darkness so either Azdaja ran away from CoD before becoming the shadow dragon or was directly beaten to submission by Golbez himself, i think it's the latter and if it is Golbez who turned Azdaja into submission then holy hell the power scale is once again torn asunder even more than Zodiark or Hydaelin.
