  1. Why are they adding all these big AOE attacks in EW? I feel like AOE is only really useful in dungeons. Unless they plan on adding some sort of "Savage" dungeon tier, I don't really understand the point.

  2. Sooo hyped. Easier veil proc? Shell/intervention buffs?!? Magic phase damage heals! And yeah the new confi combo is cool, but I'm loving these defensive boosts. Now if only they could make cover a bit more useful. I have cover as a mouse over so its a bit easier to use in panic moments. But it's pretty rare that it's critical.

I guess that knights resolve is what they meant by making proper timing of defensive s more rewarding.

  3. The most underrated change I see almost nobody talk about is that Confiteor got hit with a pretty heavy nerf compared to other skills. Looks like they spread some of its potency to the rest of the magic phase. It's great cuz now PLD damage isn't as reliant on Confiteor crit RNG. Assuming potency recalculations aren't really weird, of course.

  4. Surprised he didn't mention that the new Confiteor combo also restores mp. I wonder if that is gonna change anything about the rotation at all. Though thinking about it we would still have to wait for Req CD.

  5. Isn't the rotation today 4 Holy Spirits – 1 Confeitor? It's a 10s duration, so with a modest amount of SkS you can get 4+1 in, making your use up all your mana?

The new rotation is just that, but now we have an AoE goring blade that follows and immediately refreshes our mana regen. So we can go to a Royal Authority proc until FoF is up?

  6. The only "downside" to this, is that it makes the Req. first opener, even more trash. Req first opener is pretty much dead unless something big comes up in the potencies. Not really that much of a loss, TBH, but it is the only "downside" I can think of.

  7. Oh. Ah. Hmm.
Requiescat no longer boosts healing. Not sure how I feel about that. I've been using it with Clemency to great effect sometimes. Healer dies early on to a dungeon boss and I can heal everyone else for basically the whole fight.

  8. I'm very 2 sided on PLD, though in general I do very much love what they are doing. On one side, I have Holy Sheltron, Intervention buffs, healing on Holy Spirit/Holy Circle/Divine Veil, Expiacion (which… might actually be a misspelling of Expiation, which means "the act of making amends or reparation for guilt or wrongdoing; atonement.") and the way the Blade combo looks. On the other side, I have the fact that we're still at a 63 second rotation and the way the Blade combo functions. The 63 second rotation is just dumb and could literally be solved by making our spells cost 2.5k MP instead and giving us 4 stacks on Requiescat instead. The way the Blade combo functions is objectively good, because if nothing else, it makes our "cooldown" phase stronger. I was just expecting a little more from our capstone than AoE Goring Blade. However, for dungeons and (if we get any) any AoE fights in raids/trials, this will be super nice.

  9. The biggest thing for me with PLD is that Requiescat makes your casts instant PERIOD instead of needing a trait applied later meaning that it will benefit greatly when going back to level 70 content.

  10. Here's my unsolicited opinion.
Xeno dusting off the old YouTube account and getting an editor is the single best thing he has done for his viewers.

EDIT: Xeems if you read this can we get a "HELLO FRIIEENNDS" just for one video?

  11. This will be my main going into Endwalker. Excellent changes, love the added self-healing and sustain, and the extra 3 ranged attacks just add to uptime flexibility giving Pally an even bigger advantage in range-heavy fights, just so good. Best of all it doesn't look like it will feel very different, I love the way Paladin plays right now and it'll be pretty much the same going into the next expansion.

  12. the changes that all tanks got going into endwalker has gotten me into full tinfoil hat mode of like: are they going to scale tank damage such that these new skills make us take similar damage to previous expansions and we're going to NEED these new tools, or are tanks just going to be absolutely invincible and healers just never need to heal them.

  13. Wouldn't paladins now have the same cooldowns as the other tanks with holy sheltron? the only downside being you obviously have to have 50 gauge so it may not to be as on demand? only been max lvl for a month now so coming from a new player perspective

  14. Hey so is it possible to main both WAR and PLD with only one set of melds now you think? I know we had to have skill spd on WAR but the changes in EW look like we won’t need to differentiate sets. Can anyone more knowledgeable give me any insight on this?

  15. I feel like something else to note is that Requiescat now lasts 30 seconds and just stacks to 5. You can activate it a little bit after Fight or Flight runs out, then use the individual holy spirit stacks at any point as long as you save the Confiteor itself so that Blade of Valor lines up with raid buffs on loop 2+, and then when a phase transition happens you can just shift it forward to avoid losing a cast.

  16. Quick note, according to the peeps who did go to the Media Tour, the heal from Divine Veil is for everyone who gets the barrier, as they're the "targets". This means that you not only don't get the barrier, you don't get the heal either. Now, Holy Spirit and Holy Circle ARE spells, and heals from spells are what proc Veil, so you're right, most likely we can pop our own veil now by just doing Spirit/Circle, which is great if we're in the magic phase of the rotation, but otherwise it doesn't matter too much other than if you want to take the time out of your combo to cast a spell for it, it can do damage instead of just healing via clemency.

  17. The only real negative with PLD now is the awful CD on HG. 7 mins is just way too long now and all the others match its 10s duration. In past encounters HG was the only Invuln that consistently had issues with lining up cleanly with CD rotations (ie it's the only Invuln that isn't up for a Chastening Heat in TEA if you Invuln the Drainage Tether). Shit like that just puts HG on the bottom, even below LD and that's just pathetic
