  5. This may sound degrading, but I've really started feeling that WoW is for kids (this includes teens) and XIV is for adults, in terms of time commitment.

    WoW wants you to play nothing else (or close to it), something better suited for kids who are able to give more of their time to the game than an adult would properly be able to. XIV is fine with you taking things at your own pace and taking breaks and prioritizing real life above the game, making it much better suited for adults.

    That's probably why XIV is resonating so well with a lot of older WoW players who now can no longer prioritize the game above everything else in their lives. Their lives have changed, but instead of relaxing and aging with them, WoW is doubling down on ensuring that people can't do anything else with their free time. And when they realize that that is hurting them, only then does WoW try and adjust its approach, but by that point for some players it's too little too late. WoW will always have a special place in their hearts for the game, but there's too much baggage (especially if they used to be toxic as heck) and still a bit too much of a work feel to it.

    XIV is a bit of a clean break while still being somewhat familiar. It allows them to not fall back on their old (again, potentially toxic) behaviours but still enjoy an MMO experience. It has challenges if people want them, but otherwise the social aspect and the Main Story manages to be compelling enough to most people to more than make up for some of the things that XIV falls short in compared to their old stomping grounds.

  7. I can totally understand u not knowing what to upload,especially with what u explained about youtube.
    Its actually nice to hear u guys are playing HotS, its a great game that just got put into maintenance mode and its E-sport gutted for no good reason but its still good regardless.
    And the stuff u are planning sounds great! can't wait for it!
