  1. One interesting thing about the RDM skill is that you can see that they go from that into the start of the melee combo. This could be someone who just got enough mana to do a melee combo and at least the start of another melee combo, but who knows, maybe it is something else entirely

  2. I saw someone in chat last night say that RDM's ability comes after Embolden which you can see in the background. However, that makes Embolden weirder than it already is since you already have to use it part way through your first melee combo to be able to make it last through 2 sets of finishers, and throwing something in the middle of that just makes Embolden feel worse unless they make it like Searing Light for SMN and last 30sec. That, or they just rework Embolden altogether, which would be interesting

    if you slow down you can see right before the new ability that the RPR is just comming back from the communio animation: then after the new ability the shroud wears off:
    to me: we have a new shroud finisher/leaver ability:
    communio is our characters finisher followed up by this new void sent / avatar finisher which i assume you need communio to cast as a direct follow up

    before in enshroud you had 2x gcd character attacks (void/cross reaping) grant you 1x void sent off gcd lemure slice
    now it looks like as an addition 1x character finisher (communio) grants you 1x void sent finisher.

    (commuino will not make you leave shroud anymore, the new void finisher will / since its a direct follow up to communio, you dont need to do your full enshroud combo (reaping/slice) to access it

  4. My expectation is Dark Knight is more "Not Fell Cleave" spam and more "Not Shinten" spam and maybe a longer Living Shadow, with just more oGCD filler… That's how conditioned I am and that's how disappointed I was with Dark Knight in both Shadowbringers AND Endwalker…

    Gunbreaker getting more Continuation skills make sense logically, so I do have some hype for Gunbreaker, kinda wish Double Down had a Continuation skill though.

    Everyone knows Red Mage is getting another combo finisher, and I LOVE IT!

    I'm not hopeful on Samurai getting Kaiten back, even though Kenki management is just boring with Shinten spam…

    I kinda wish they did consolidated combo oGCDs for a lot of skill upgrades in Endwalker since they were different enough animations, and I kinda wish for that in Dawntrail as well, but no hope for that…

    My guess for Dragoon re-work is all jumps and dives are GCD but they all trigger Mirage Dive, to make up for the fact that Dragoon has less oGCDs.

  5. Done a bit of animation research on the WHM ability. It's the same base animation as the casted healing spells, whereas the Afflatus spells put the staff up, and their other hand all the way down to their waist. So I think this may actually be a Medica upgrade of some sort

  6. Wanted to throw my own thoughts out with some timestamps. Won't mention stuff you brought up unless relevant.

    4:30 Nidhogg could be a finisher to "wheeling thrust" and "fang and claw". but with the rework, its impossible to guess.
    8:00 My hope is that it could be an evolution of Perfect balance. Where the standard moves become something else. like how reaper gets a new set of moves during its reaper form. THe dragon-like thing could be a raptor, and the tiger a coeurl. like the stances.
    11:30 So, i know taking the benchmark at face value is not the best idea when it comes to slotting in skills into combos. But while we focused on meteor landing and hitting the snake, we could see the red mage doing their melee combo in the background, and then casting embolden. I don't want to say it, but the fear that it's just another part of the combo might be greater than we think. XD
    12:42 It is indeed ikishoten. It's got the lightning effect.
    25:00 the white mage has the green cast lines around them, indicating a cast. Could be an upgrade to medica 1 or 2. like a medica 3 or 4.
    27:24 I'm reaching with this one, but I'm thinking it could be an upgrade to Edge and flood of shadow. Since one looks single-target and the other like a line.
    29:17 Could be an upgraded lemure's slice? Though im reaching with that one.
    31:14 My first though was that they might have upgraded shadowbite to look closer to ladonsbite so they fit together better. especially since current shadowbite is a rework that has the same animation.
    32:05 I hear mention from a warrior main that it's the same animation as vengeance. so it might be an upgraded vengeance. Like how bloodwhetting is an upgraded war intuition.

  7. The second machinist chainsaw I think is a drill upgrade. Drill stops at the enemy model and then punches through, and the new chainsaw does the same thing.

    Also during the samurai and machinist part, very easy to miss, but there's a warrior doing the old Skull Sunder animation

The one downside to the new dragoon ability is i don't think that is a life window move because they aren't glowing with the normal red aura at all in any of those scenes. so unless we are also losing the red aura attached to life we are either losing life altogether or we just lost our 2nd aura after losing blue

  9. DRK looks like he got something like the PLD got in endwalker. As instead of spamming blood spiller DRK now follow with a special combo. you can see a first new move that look like a thrust behind the WHM animation, then the cross slash then a third move with 3 slashes ending with the dark blades shooting from the ground.

  10. The Warrior ability towards the end has the exact same animation as Vengeance, but different particle effects. It'd be odd for me if they re-use an animation for a new ability, or if they retool vengeance or make it have some additional effect.

    Also I don't think Dark Knight is getting a replacement upgrade to their souleater combo, I saw Hard Slash, or at least Syphon Strike earlier in that dungeon… maybe it's an "unlocked" combo, like instead of Delirium giving you three bloodspillers and quietuses maybe it's now a brand new combo. Hard to say. I'd prefer a baseline second combo myself, to change up the gcd playstyle between burst.

  11. The new Samurai ability looks a bit boring to me. It's a sideways Ogi Namikiri with a flip ending with an old school Tenka Goken. I think Samurai have enough hard hitting abilities and unless it does something special, I'm not sure it's needed.

    Of course, it could just be an upgrade to the graphics/damage of Namikiri or the way it works.

  12. If reassemble helps give you a new proc for drill, chainsaw and air anchor I would rather it just works on proc and resetting air anchor and chainsaw as drill doesn't give battery charge. Also I've been wanting an aoe battery charge because I mean it would be so much fun to build battery in trash mobs and then use queen to do some aoe combo's

  13. I think Monk might be getting its basic GCDs upgraded during Perfect Balance, the new flashy effects with more potency or some such. Would probably be a bit much for every Twin Snakes to look like that (at least it looks very much like Twin Snakes to me).

  14. The 2nd mnk ability looks like it might be them impersonating Byakko as the last bit of the animation has the ink stroke marks that his crafted weapons all share. It also looks like they unleash a tiger.

    Yay more flowers for my main.😅 I just hope the skills aren't all just piled onto the later levels again. It doesn't matter how flashy things are if we still have jobs that don't feel good at lower levels or don't have an aoe until Stone Vigil. I can't wait to see everyone making all sorts of fem Hrothgar.

  15. Not going to lie, I was REALLY not excited for viper at reveal. It looked like sorta re-used and generic animations with a little flare to them. Seeing it in action in this trailer though has changed my mind. It looks like they enhanced some of the animations a bit. Just makes me excited as hell for the job actions trailer. I really hope we get some good stuff on SMN again. Brutally honest though, I am very likely going to be changing my main to pictomancer because of the moogle ray of death nuke lmao That is like top-tier wishlist material. Right up there with the moogle MNK weapons from Moggle Mog. Cuteness overload

  16. Blm new final thunder is both aoe & single target hopefully… , as T3 (single) & T4 (aoe) use different buttons, hopefully the next thunder is used for both single & aoe, saving us a button on the hotkeys

  17. That WHM heal is 100% just a Medica 2 upgrade, I'd bet my life savings on it

    And DRK appears to have a new 3 hit combo.
    The DRK does a Bloodspiller, then 3 GCDs one after the other.
    The first skill was a thrust, second was an upward slash, final was a downward slash.
    Its probably not a replacement for their current 123 combo, because Siphon Strike and Hard Slash were in the trailer.
