  1. To summarize POTD what matters is your aetherpool arm and armor which you get to level by opening blue chest and it's random. The amount you collect doesn't disappear even if you leave POTD it's pretty much your stats and level in POTD

  2. Tips about the palace. Your armor and weapons outside the palace do not matter, Your aetherpool arms/armor increase your ability to deal dmg and take dmg, the higher the better. Lust is best vs bosses because the vulerable stacks. Hidden treasure shows a little yellow pole on the ground if there is one on the floor (it gives you a message if there is one or not). The palace has random effects happen on each floor or none. Gold chests=pomanders, silver = chance to upgrade arms and armor. Pomander of rage is good against floor enemies (not the boss!). If you get hit by a luring trap use the witching pomander

  3. The Hornet killed you. It has a ability called Final Sting. youd see it on the cast bar it does it when you reduce its hp enough but not kill it. You have to get out of mellee range or interrrupt it. if you let it go off its insta kill unless your a tank with full HP.

  4. Palace music is just a collection of soundtracks from throughout the game, and some old tracks from 1.0.
Love Potd, one of my favourite pastimes in the game ๐Ÿ˜€

  5. If no ones told you yet, when ever you get a debuff or buff, on top your HUD, screen, you will see the types of buff you get and how long they last. If you hover over them. You get to see their information on what they are about. Best of luck on POD, like many have mentioned, usually with in a party things will go a bit more smother. You can go as a random party when you que up on your own, or if you decide to go with a fixed party you would have to stay with them to keep the data.

  6. PotD moves pretty quickly with a group. Solo is a rough ride, especially without building up your Aetherpool Gear levels first. Those are what determine your strength in PotD. What really sucks is that if you make through enough floors to reach a boss and die there, you walk away with nothing for your time. I highly recommend letting the game group you up.

  7. Looks like you were having fun with it, which is most important. The storyline ties into another story of the msq. There are a total of 200 floors in potd and they each will be harder and harder. I loved watching you discover the pomanders abilities you get from the chests and what all the traps do. I'm looking forward to seeing what you tackle next.

  8. I would strongly recommend going with a party until your aetherpool level is higher. Solo dungeon is meant for when you've already cleared it once. Also, the Pomander of Witching transforms all enemies near you (in the room with you, basically) into super weak things for a few minutes. Best time to pop them is when you've hit that Luring Trap (spawns 3 mobs all aggroed on you) like the one that killed you. Generally it is best to stay still as much as possible when fighting in Deep Dungeon so you don't accidentally trigger traps while already engaged.

  9. Here are some tipps for potd:
    A) kill every mob on the floor until you reach lv60 just to be on par with the boss-level of a floorset (boss floor 10 is lv19, floor 20 is 35 for example)
    B) groundtraps tend to mostly be somewhere near the center of a room so hug the walls BUT the connecting corridors never have a trap in them
    C) explosions deal 80% max-hp-damage, so make sure that you are healed up before opening a chest

  10. You did great for solo play. Seems like you've got a much better understanding of your skills now.
For solo the red mage is a very good choice. You will have decent heal and DPS abilities. But most importantly lvl up the gear and weapon from this dungeon. ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. A few things to know about PoTD, The Cairn of Return is basically for parties if you don't have a healer or who can resurrect party members in your group (for solo it doesn't mater) and if it's fully activated you can revive a fallen member of your group. If you're doing in a group, it's recommended to have a Phoenix Down in your inventory just in case.
For solo: Keep Pomanders of Witching just in case if you trigger a trap that makes a few stronger mobs go after you (like that one that you accidentally triggered at the end). Pomander of Sight will show you where the traps are. If you ever decide to check what each trap does, remember afterwards what they do because if you decide to tripper a mob one just to get more experience be careful with that. There are some mobs that would be best to be avoided as a SMN.
There will be a lot of runs for you if you ever decide to reach floor 50. But like a few commentators said, Armour and Weapon Aetherpool is important. I hope you'll have fun with PotD ^^

  12. I can't wait to do this with you sometime in a 4 man ๐Ÿ‘€ palace of the dead and something similar I won't name (spoolers) with friends is some of my fav content in the game.

  13. I remember how painful soloing PotD 1-50 was for the first time. Then I realized that I could just steamroll through it with a team of 3-4 people.. Lmao the mechanics were almost nonexistent.
