Some HUGE Final Fantasy XIV Player Housing news has come out of tonight’s Letter from the Producer LIVE Part LXV from the 14 hour broadcast! A lottery system is being developed, new free company only wards and something called ‘solo’ wards! I was not expecting this AT ALL, but holy cow this is going to bring some hopeful huge changes to how housing works!

I'm very happy they're adding in more options, though until we know about the volume of wards and plots being added, I'm warry of getting my hopes up for getting a house in my desired zone, Gridania. Was there any news on if all neighborhood are getting these new wards types, or any confirmation that the older ones would not be getting things like the lottery option? I'm curious if that will be Ishgard only. I also really want to know more about these "solo wards." To me that sounds like instanced housing.
