  1. How the fuck is raid still spamming advertisements!!! Fucking game. Also I agree with the pacing issues on ffxiv it’s why I won’t go back to it. I do not want to grind out the insanely long story shit just to get to end game.. also not gonna pay for the skip

  2. I had given FF a chance but its too japanese for my taste. I will keep playing wow till my 6-month subscr expire (so around 5 more months, i know just bought it right before the whole mess) just to get smth out of those money; and after that maybe start playing Warframe again?

  3. The first time I played ff14, there was way too much complexity (to be a dragoon you needed 30 Lancer and 15 of another related class), there was a lot of the fluff in game, you had to wait a long time especially as DPS to get into a duty or dungeon.

Now, they have definitely changed it for the better, it is not as ridiculous as it was with leveling. The community is much better and you are encouraged to be friendly.
I just got into it and I remember a tank really yelling at me for hitting an add I wasn't and complaining that due to my action and my KO that we weren't going to get the max XP and wasting time.

The ranged DPS and Healer basically told him to chill and that I was new (ish). He wouldn't, kept blaming me for everything wrong with the dungeon at that point.

Afterwards, the other players stood up for me and was like (well, Lancer saved my butt here, where were you, tank?)

It was a great experience from the community perspective and got a couple of commendations for the dungeon run just trying to learn and play and be cooperative.

  4. The established FFXIV community has, I think, done a grave disservice to the game over these last years with the dire warnings regarding ARR. ARR is not nearly as terrible as some long-term players like to suggest (especially after the revamp last year). How many people over the years have had an interest in trying the game out, only to come across a legion of 'fans' telling them things like "just suffer through A Realm Reborn! It sucks but it gets better! I promise!"

It just isn't the encouragement some people think it is. Why would a prospective player 'suffer' through dozens of hours of content to get to the 'good bit'? So much of it, I think, comes down to a weird, almost sense of… shame? people have, when comparing A Realm Reborn to what comes afterwards.

Is A Realm Reborn the best content in the game? It demonstrably is not. However, it is not the experience of pure misery some people seem to believe it to be. The established community needs to chill tf out with their good intentioned 'warnings' about A Realm Reborn and just let people experience the game for themselves. The truth of the matter is, it's going to be the rare player that keeps with the game because it gets 'better' if they absolutely despise ARR. People will either like it or they won't, be fine with it or they won't. All these warnings and caveats to people new to the game do more harm than good.

  5. Great vid! Love that you love the game. I haven't played it for a while 😅still getting massive pains in the wrist and hand after an hour or so 😅
BTW calm before the storm sounds like an awesome fc in ff14 doesn't it 😉😉😉😉

  6. When I started FF14 a few years back during Stormblood, I played until level 51, and then just gave up. I just couldn't stand being sent back and forth just for dialogue quests. People kept telling me to just stick with it, but I invested to many hours in at that point I just couldn't do it anymore. Fast forward to current day, I hopped back in to give it another chance.

My conclusion. I never played WoW because I liked MMOs. I play an MMO because I liked WoW. If I stop subbing to WoW, I'll probably go back to full time FPS or ARPG games. For now though, I'm enjoying raiding Sanctum of Domination.

  7. One of my biggest complaints about the world of FFXIV is the ease of travel. Because you can teleport from anywhere to anywhere else, the map ends up feeling disconnected and much smaller than it actually is. It's not nearly as cohesive as Classic WoW's world for example.

  8. been on ffxiv for about a month so far and hit lvl 70 on my monk and I love it, dungeons are amazing, the combat is smooth and the combos are nice. quests are good very good.

it has been nice to experience the game with new eyes after playing wow for 16 years

  9. I like the aesthetic, story, and many of the systems
But the combat feels awful to me which is a deal breaker. Really awkward how the animations don't actually tie directly to the dmg taken/received. And just floaty/unresponsive/unimpactful imo and too slow with the long gcd.
(I did give it a fair chance to ARR level cap)

  10. Started playing two weeks ago. I'm in the post ARR content now. I was playing a white mage but then I stumbled on to the red mage unlock quest and immediately fell in love with the job.

  12. 1 month ago: "Its all just hype and streamers trying to make money, the game is mediocre at best"

Today: Leveling a bunch of combat and crafting/gathering jobs, finished ARR and looking forward to Heavenward

Its amazing how much playing FFXIV can change your opinion of FFXIV

  13. I started playing FF14 in December last year after being bored in Shadowlands. Just a couple of days ago I finished the MSQ after 9 month of playing. There is just too much to do, too many jobs to try and places to see 🙂
Also I have to say – Redmage is the most fun class I have played in any MMO ever. Combat feels awesome.

Really glad to see so many of my favorite wow streamers, including you, enjoying the game as well! The best is yet to come!

  14. Been playing wow for years and somehow never touched FFXIV despite loving many of the other games in the series. Now I’m telling all my friends how much of a breath of fresh air this game is. I’m in the post-ARR content right now and even though stagnating around 50 is a bit of a slog, the story is so damn good and the world is just engrossing enough I don’t mind. I think the “ARR is boring just wait til HW” meme is WAY off base. The base game has a ton of charm, worldbuilding and character development. So glad to have found my way to Eorzea. Don’t see myself leaving anytime soon…

  15. People are not saying ARR sucks, but they are saying that every other expansion is wayyy better. So in fear of losing people thru ARR they tell you this. That's my understanding at least. I'm almost done with ARR and I had a blast:)

  16. So happy to see so many ppl enjoying this game. For me being a legacy player it has been completely fun watching your stream and see you enjoy all of the content. It was crazy fun to see the reaction to the ARR story. Look forward to the day we can travel data center, will just have to look you up ….. you'll love heavensward

  17. Pretty much the same experience for me. Bored with WoW, heard of FFXIV, started the free trial, subscribed after just 3 days, bought all expansions, pre-ordered Endwalker and canceled my WoW sub. Just got into Stormblood now, and yes, I fully agree – the post-ARR content is a bit lengthy but fully worth it story-wise. But remember, this was all released after the ARR "endgame" to build a bridge over time to the next expansion. And be prepared to see the same again at the end of Heavensward before you finally enter Stormblood. This is simply added content after you hit max level at that given time. And the storytelling just keeps getting better, expect to get really emotional at some points in the MSQ. I've never been this addicted, never had this "just one more quest…" feeling in WoW for years!
