You can raise a chocobo and if you feed it the correct food. You can essentially get them to be any color you want.
You can visit other servers in game through aetheryites
There's absolute no problem if you get the expansion later on. On your lvl50 quest you get a potion to re-edit your character's appearance so if you end up liking the game and buying the expansions, you can do it then 🙂

I didn't see below or watch the whole video yet but you do get a free are change/Phantasia Potion at a later level.

I just started to play not long ago for a week and already have a character to 20 and I'm not a constant long-time player.
Also, no need for alts 1 character can be all classes in time but Id research what classes you like and stick with it for a while.

If you haven't you should click "cinematics" on the title screen and watch the one labeled "A Realm Reborn demo and title." It's a fantastic cinematic that the default intro with the narration only gives you pieces of. Still gives me chills to this day. 🙂

A fantasia is very cheap, buy one and you can become a bunny girl. But forwarning they can not wear hats really 🙁 however they are my favorite race. Just something about bunny warriors sounds awesome.
