  1. I think it's poetic that we ride on the back of the final boss of stormblood after having had our companions revived by the final boss of shadowbringers in order to fight the boss of end Walker

  2. When I started shadowbringers, I only ever saw the cinematic. My guess of the story would’ve been us talking a page out of the ascian’s book and summon primals and cause some general chaos to start balancing the first out towards darkness. Similar almost to what the raid did.

  3. Revolutions could be potentially my favorite ffxiv song. It's the only expansion song I had to listen to several times a day while playing the expansion. I'm very disappointed that instrumental version is not part of official album.

  4. I really liked stormblood MSQ(not Lyse tho) except the last bit of liberating Ala Mhigo and I can SQUARELY put the blame on Sri Lakshmi and the Ananta storybeat. You just took that eyesore of a bridge, you feel the momentum, the Garleans are on the backfoot, aaaaand the blue Ananta just spontaneously summon a primal out of nowhere and all the momentum is stopped in its tracks. On top of that Alisaie (who’s been pretty competent up to this point) acts like a total buffoon in this plot beat. The whole thing feels like a total drag because it’s obvious the devs needed a mid level trial boss and by the time you get back to chasing the Garleans to Ala Mhigo any and all sense of urgency of striking while the iron’s hot has long since disappeared.

  5. I will honestly say imho Stormblood was too ambitious, it tried to tell 2 stories in one expansion and this is possibly why Dawntrail missed the mark too, dawntrail had two interesting stories that on their own could have worked, but with too much to tell at launch you have to flesh it out in patches which will or wont work and the issue is, waiting for that closure, wont feel satisfying.

The other issue is Yoshida, imma be real, is a safe player, and he plays WAY too safe, his game direction is too much of a steady wind ambition of the same old same old without really rocking the boat and the issue is, the boat may be sturdy,I may even love the ride the first time, but after a while, that constant monotonous ride is, a little boring, I want some risk.

This is why I agree things need to get dark again, give me death, or at least give me stakes, make something feel meaningful not something I can solve too easily, make the Wol, Struggle, again.

Punish me, for my arrogance thinking that defeating a god at the end of the universe was going to make my char unstoppable show me there are still foes out tehre that dont have to be cosmic gods to outplay you, or be your equal.

And to be honest, yes, kill someone, specifically one of the scions, we are overdue a loss that makes me feel it, and most of these chars I am introduced to in dawntrail I know will either die at launch or in patches or weill get redemption or development but they will be safe, because the story, is too safe.
