  1. Whenever I get into dungeons, if they are willing I tend to encourage them to do mechanics correctly because I've seen most of these dungeons before gear scaling trivialized many of them. I get the impression newer players consider it making a big deal out of nothing, but they don't know what it was like. Which is fine, they aren't obligated to suffer for nothing. Just know it wasn't always faceroll. XD

  2. Whenever I get Pharos as one of my dailies I internally groan. This dungeon is still rough. Particularly Symond, I swear despite being the first boss of the dungeon he is the hardest one in there by far.

  3. Back when this dungeon was new and i took up tanking i used to troll parties by meticulously explaining Symond and Zu only to instantly pull Tyrant with no warning, probably gave lots of healers panic attacks.

  4. LMAO, I cannot imagine doing this dungeon on min ilvl. The first 2 bosses are usually a shit show even without that. As someone who usually queues as healer, I want to cry when I get this dungeon. The biggest issue being that, like you guys, most people don't know the mechanics and the mechanics still matter.

  5. I remember this dungeon was nerfed because it was too hard. On top of that, we had TP bar so melee could not spam AOE like we can now. People used to pray for Black Mages here since they were the only job that could spam AOE.

  6. Ah yes the worst dungeon in the game in my opinion. Aurum Vale gets ire from the community but I think it’s not too bad. It’s just the first room that sucks. Pharos Sirius? No it sucks from the word go. The bosses suck, the add pulls suck, the hazards suck, the exploration sucks. Shout out to Pharos Sirius (Hard) for not k my being easier than it’s normal version but BETTER. This is by far the low point when it comes to dungeons in my honest opinion.

  7. Pharos Sirius is such a cool dungeon, the constant Siren's song as its background music really adds to the experience. At the same time, oh man does it hit hard. Most dungeons, even ARR Hard ones, are quite chill. But Pharos Sirius… well… the video speaks for itself.

  8. By the way, pro tip for tab targeting in cone setting – you can actually make it better by angling the camera. The less enemies on the screen, the less targets to tab through as cone goes through what you can see. Very handy for Frontlines especially.

  9. Don't know if someone else has mentioned this, but rather than tab targeting or clicking on the actual enemy, when you specifically need to hit one enemy and just that enemy it's best to target them by clicking on their name in the enemy list (it's just under your party list on the left side). you can also see what each enemy is casting on that list as well. it's not really necessary for most things but if you ever get to TEA you'll see how it can be extremely useful 😛
