Marcel is watching 15 Year-Long WoW Nerd’s First Impressions of FFXIV by Lucron and can relate to some of the things said in this video. I played also World of Warcraft before I got into Final Fantasy 14 and am considered a WoW refugee like many others.

Wow
So back in ARR, there were elemental stats, things like fire resistance wind resistance etc and the deity you chose would influence some of your resistances but how much it made an impact I'm not sure, I didn't get to endgame ARR content until heavensward came out and from my experience, at that point, most people ignored resistance stats. It was eventually removed from the game with the Stormblood expansion.
Oh wow, I was not aware that other games don't level-scale… I can't even imagine what that must be like… especially when there are leveling roulettes and stuff where you get sorted into a random dungeon and get a ton of exp and they use that to fill up for example a dungeon a new player is trying to run specifically… how long must the queue times in old content be without that O.o
And it's possible to deactivate the level scaling when you are in a pre formed party (don't let the wording confuse you that includes everything from 1 to 8 persons) so for example to farm Mounts or get BLU spells with the help of another player
I actually googled that out of curiosity now. There are almost 80 Dungeons, of course not all are part of the main story. And there's always a heap of them at 50/60/70/80 and only one every 3 or 4 levels in between
