Welcome to my New Player Fate guide! We go over the basics of what Fates are and then go over a Fate Leveling Guide. Fates are a great activity to do while in queue or when you have a couple minutes. Let me know if you have any feedback in the comments!

-What are Fates?-
Full Active Time Event
They are events that randomly spawn that you can complete for rewards.
-Level Syncing-
Fates have a level sync feature, where if you above the level of the fate you can sync to the level of the fate to do it. It is only one way though. If you are over leveled it will bring you down but if you are under leveled, it will NOT bring you up in level.
-Types of Fates-
Kill Enemies – Weapons
Boss – Monster’s Face
Collection – Bag
Escort – Shield
Defend – Castle icon
Start NPC – !
-Rewards-
Gil
Grand Company Seals
Specials Fates give Minions & Mounts
XP
Bicolored Gemstones – You start getting these when you complete fates in Shadowbringers. They are a currency you can use to trade for different items.

-Tips-
Flying will be super useful
Grand company
Fates can spawn in a range of levels. Sometimes all the fates will be above your level sometimes you will be above their level. That’s okay.
Fates with EXP bonuses – You will see the little XP icon next to the Fate. These fates give more XP!
Twisted Fate Monster Bonus – Special Monsters sometimes spawn during fates. Kill them for a buff that makes your next Fate give more XP!

You said shield icon for both Defend and Escort. Defend has a tower icon. Escort has the shield icon.
A good suggestion is to have a guide on Chocobos. There are a few things about your Chocobo that could be useful to players.

meh, cmon, fates worst way for lvling, potd, hoh, bozja and dungeons better and faster..
I played healers and tank, so I had no idea you can see the fate type on the icon haha
This is true up to lvl 30. After that, xp gets nerfed.
Fates are good for farming gc seals. Also 20 fates gives you a ton of xp on challenge log weekly regardless of the lvl of the fates.
40-45 is better in north thanalan if you're good at dps. Fates spawn more often in north thanalan than mor dhona
In the fringes, the west has lower lvl fates. The east has higher lvl fates
In tempest, 79 is pretty much all fates since you get no xp at lvl 80

Question: I've always been into crafting/professions. However, I can't find a single video that explains a little in depth about which the gather/crafting jobs do and make. There a reason for that? All videos I can find are about speed leveling them and making Gil.
If anyone can point me to a good resource I would appreciate it.

There's no way FATE's are good for leveling, doing lvl58 fates as a 58 gives you 68k xp, and you need over 3M xp to level, you'd need to do over 46 of them for 1 level, and your XP out scales the XP you get from fates, so I'd imagine 75+ you'd need to do over 80 per level, hell no this is a viable way to level.
