  1. 3:02 that rpr doesnt realize the tank is booking it outta there and just eats the aoe. Top tier rpr play 🙂 Also looks like the rpr doesn't have his buff up a chunk of the fight. Making us rpr mains look good.

  2. Are we not talking about how they kneecapped our dps?
    Salty pld main here, figured i'd see some similar emotions here on just how far we've fallen. Since literally every other tank out performs us in dps and mitigation.

    I mean bringing a pld is a 10% dps loss over a gnb or drk, meaning outside of prog tools ( like… what? I guess Clemency? Passage of Arms? )
    which aren't necessary, you're left with a tank that uses about 27 of it's buttons every fight and gets shafted for it

    Insult to injury the one thing we did have that no other tank did (a huge ass sword dealing 1200 potency) they took away from us (confiteor now 900 potency( tested can confirm it's only 900)) and gave it to GNB.

  3. The extra sustain with Holy Shelltron and the cure potencies on Holy Spirit/Holy Circle are so welcome. I feel like I have so much more agency over my own well-being now in content. It's definitely not as absurdly overpowered as Bloodwhetting can be in dungeons, but it's still very nice. I also love that I can toss Intervention on a DPS after they take some damage and it's effectively a slow Clemency that uses no MP and doesn't use a GCD. I've had a couple occasions where the healer was getting used to a job (typically Sages) and died to a mechanic during a boss encounter and I was able to keep the party healthy through the rest of the fight without even having to use Clemency.

    I also fucking LOVE the fact that Requiescat an Sword Oath stacks last 30 seconds now. That adds a crazy amount of flexibility, and popping Req early to be able to Holy Spirit during movement only to get back in melee and be able to get off a full combo before having to finish my casts is awesome. Even if I lose out on a couple physical GCDs under FoF due to moving away from the boss, being able to get a couple strong casts in feels way better than Shield Lob spam.

  4. I'm a PLD main and love the changes. But I have a few issues.
    Cover is still useless.
    Shield Bash is still 95% useless.
    All of our attacks regaining MP seem pointless. It's incredibly hard to run out of MP with how low cost our spells are. Just feels like a waste gaining all that MP.
    New Spell Combo looks cool but doesn't do much damage.
    Suggestions:
    Make Atonement Heal.
    Make Cover a 30 Sec buff that absorbs the next hit a target Recieves with 20% Mitigation. No Shield Oath Cost.
    Make Shield Bash an OCD with Higher Potency and Generate Oath Guage.
    Increase Potency slightly of new Combo.

The biggest problem with Paladin is that you lose so much damage whenever there's a transition phase where the boss is untargetable… oh and Confiteor combo is 2.5gcd each… and Cover is still a gimmick… and Divine Veil's Tooltip still sounds like you're getting a heal from the prog but yeah, overall nice additions just needs some number tweaking on the Savage patch next week.

  6. the only thing I really don't like about paladin. is that I leveled it to 90 and have done a bunch of stuff with it, and I STILL muscle memory reup goring blade after I use my magic combo. it's such a pain to do that and go "well there goes my rotation"

  7. I would just want three changes for PLD:
    Resquietcat turns into Blades, since you can only use Blade while it's active anyways.
    Blades combo should have way higher potency. It looks so massive and awesome, but the dmg is really lackluster. PLD needs a slight dmg buff anyways, so why not increase the potencies of the Blade follow ups, so it's like a big finisher.

    If I'm picky I would love some ways to make MP relevant again. Like an oGCD the costs MP, so you can use it when you're full mana.

  8. totally agree!!! and the cover needs to change as well!!! now the cover is tied with HG, also even in raid pld rarely uses cover!!! they should make cover have reduced the damage taking effect like 10%! the good thing is u got 100 gates at the beginning! like the old-time u need to at least after the 30s of the fight to be able to use sheltron!

  9. I think they should change the sword spell combo to replace fast blade, root blade, and goring blade, in order to circumvent muscle memory challenges for veteran players…

    but it’s still awesome imo.

  10. Cover should just be taken off of the oath gauge since it has such a ridiculous cooldown, then maybe it would be useful. That said, paladin is in a great place overall, so it’s not a big deal except to make every move useful.

I like that everyone is pretty much praising Paladin so far this expansion while I'm sitting here staring at my Dark Knight and thinking "why couldn't I get all this crazy QoL in MY expansion eh?" The fact that they could give such good QoL to both Paladin and Warrior has me hopeful that they can fix a few of my grievances with Gunbreaker and some major issues that I have with Dark Knight, although I'm not sure if they're prepared to fix all the things about Dark Knight because it'd take a little work. Living Dead in particular has only gotten worse from expansion to expansion as the other tanks invulns seem to get better.

  12. Little disappointed this didn't take extra care like the delubriam video. Would be nice to see the action icons on screen (top left), and a pause, a breath, between as each action is introduced. (Ideally it would be nice to see major mentions of actions reinforced bottom right)

  13. Bring on the forced downtime mechanics so the extra mp for holy spirits will stop getting memed. I mean lets be real it's paladin…if you picked up paladin to care about DPS i got bad news….

    Thematically i would expect the other 3 tanks to do more damage. Pld (except cover) functions exactly as I'd expect but i suppose with enough complaints it'll get some potency increases (blade combo please)
