  1. Maybe you should read what the devs have said, why it’s happening and how they are resolving it? (They are transparent about it) where many companies would have said nothing at all?

  2. i say the ff team is doing thier best, they have been aware of this coming they made new world increased caps weeks in advance but no one could expect this a 1M increase in population? like people need to relax they provided 7 days free an even are giving thier deovlopmer server so you all can enjoy the game there is putting them into high regard an then there is honest wait it will be fixed peps need to chill

  3. No excuse with how much the company makes for charging people to play the game. This should not be happening. It's crazy you have to wait 2 hours lol just to get in the game to play. They make millions off us if not billions. They should have known this would happen and been ready for it.

  4. "lol you've never been to a mmo launch" companies not learning from past issues of launches and not being prepared for it just shows either pure ignorance or sheer stupidity sprinkled in with alot of greed.

  5. For those of you that work throughout the day (I work from 8 a.m to 5 p.m om Mondays and up to 4 p.m from Tuesdays to Fridays) and only have free time in the evenings or on the weekends I feel your pain. Not to mention, from my end, by the time I get home by 6 p.m. I need to be in bed by 8:30 p.m or 9 p.m in order to wake up for 5 a.m. each day to get the 7 o'clock bus to get to work early or else I'll be late. So even if the Queue Time Boot was fixed it'll still not fix the amount of time you have to wait (being an hour and/or even more) before you finally get in the game. As such, to me, just playing weekends (if I even get the opportunity to do so) is not enough time for me to fully enjoy the game especially I'm paying for a sub which is supposed to cover my 30 days of playtime. So if the long queue times aren't resolved I'll just stay unsubbed, after my current sub runs out, until they are fixed and focus my times on other games and I have an excuse to catch up on anime shows I've missed out on. I may love Final Fantasy XIV but I'm not about to get grey hair from this frustrating queue madness.

P:S Mind, I do understand the current situation going on at the moment, I am human after all. But I don't feel it worth my time wasting it away on something I can't access and therefore could bide my time in other more productive things.

Insert Meme "You'll get paid when you fix this god-damned door!"

  6. Me with no loyalty to FFXIV: Man this shadowbringers story is starting off slow.

My brainwashed FC: We love shadowbringers <3, wdf, are you kidding, you’re trolling, best mmo, wow sucks.

  7. Yeah I’ll never understand the boot licking from fanboys. I’ve been playing FF14 for a long time, even bought the original broken version back when it first launched. I love the game, but this is without a doubt a bad expansion launch. And fanboys act like if you have any negative criticisms at all that the game will wither and die immediately and they have to defend it. I’ve already decided to stop commenting on the social channels. And yes yoshi p and his team are very transparent with the fans, but I refuse to believe the “oh we didn’t see this coming” excuse when literally all of us did.

  8. The problem with holding companies accountable is that they have to have the ability to have made the corrections in the first place within a reasonable time frame and within reasonable means. These queue issues aren't happening in a vacuum, and the reason people are defending SE this time is because they understand that this particular situation is outside of their control, they gave us a heads up months in advance as well as laying out their plans to correct for it, and that trying to claim customer privilege when it comes to the current world situation is bad faith and bad take.

Thus whole video is a bad faith argument for this specific situation. Amazon can be held to this standard because they've been working on NW for years before launch, and had all the hardware and tools in place before Covid. SE did not. If this happened in a non-Covid world, then I would agree 100% that SE is in the wrong here, but we aren't, and I'm aware that there's a difference between working on a whole mmo from the ground up for years, and working on an expansion for a fraction of that time, and then suddenly having your population nearly double or triple in yet another fraction of that time again.

  9. The server issues are terrible. However on the other side the game itself is flawless. As a lifelong FF fan I will defend FFXIV everyday of the week. However they got the server issues very badly wrong and a multimillion dollar gaming company with their experience should have made better plans long before this. Forget COVID, server backup space should have been planned for a couple of years ago. Not blaming Yoshi P and his team but SE. With this games success Yoshi P needs to be give a blank cheque book.

  10. Completely agree with you. I just roll my eyes whenever I see some silly fanbois blindly defending SE, when it is clear as hell that they messed up big time by missing out on this Queue system bug

  11. Okay ill have to agree and disagree yes this is better then shadowbringers due to shadowbringers 2 hours in had to be taken down for 4 hours of extended maintenance but on the flip side yes they should have expected higher turn out due to the mass wow migrations a few months before hand.

So i agree and also disagree with you i personally do believe they should have at least had a new server added at the very least to take off a big portion of the burden but also if the visit world system is broken to lower this too they need to fix that asap because lets face it this is bad.

  13. If only it was "just" 2 hours per queue… I had to wait for over 3 hours to get through a queue of 2500 on Phoenix this afternoon…only to get auto-kicked because I fell asleep while waiting ^^' (have been up since 5 am and it was almost 6pm by then)… logged in again around 6:30 pm: queue of over 7k people… down to 2k now and it might speed up a bit more since people start logging off and going to bed over here but still… if I had to get up at 5am tomorrow, I wouldn't be able to play at all today. Fortunately, I don't have work tomorrow, though…

  14. He is just lucky the majority of this community is beta's and females… all of you submisives really enjoy just bending over and grabbing your ankles. The truth is this is unacceptable from a multi-billion dollar company who had more than ample time to prepare.

  15. Good lord I couldn't agree more, and this is coming from someone who has white-knighted for these guys for years. I realize though that I wasn't white-knighting the dev team; I was trying to squash what was utter nonsense and hyperbole among the entitled in the community, and I'm doing the same to those who are defending what is a less than smooth launch (to say it nicely), putting me on the other side of the fence.

We can work around long queues (temporarily). Getting booted after a couple hours only to start over? Can even absorb a few of those as well because of how invested we are. Just don't think we're stupid enough to not ensure we have a good, if not stellar connectivity with our ISPs, while you are well aware the problem is on your end, and that the amount of simultaneous logins was not projected.

At the end of the day, they still have my sub of course. But it does chink the armor, and I need to call a spade a spade.

  16. You refer to "bad practices" a lot, but never actually referred to anything they were doing or should have been doing. This seems to be a theme with a lot of the criticism and it's why there's been push-back, aside from the fan base having a certain level of trust with the devs built up.

They're not only working on 2002 issues etc…, they're communicating what the issues are, what they're prioritizing, and what to feasibly expect in terms of updates. Most of these disagreements seem to come down to people just blindly asserting things contradicted by the facts stated by Yoshi-P and the devs about what their limitations have looked like. (especially in regards to resources and availability to expand server capacity). You know what's a bad practice? Pretending you know an easy solution to a hardware, software, and supply problem without knowing anything about the market, staff resources, infrastructure, or code that the devs are working with. There are a lot of armchair "experts" out there proclaiming everything should be easily solved, and I'm just not buying that it's more likely the devs are incompetent and don't give a shit (despite all evidence to the contrary at most other times and in most other ways) than that these people just don't know what they're talking about vis a vis the existing infrastructure and what resources are available to improve it.

  17. The worst part of it is the main streamers of ffxiv Mr. Happy and llamaTodd are already 90 on multiple jobs and I can’t watch them anymore because of spoilers. Thanks Square Enix for the World Worst Launch of an Expansion EVER!

  18. I play FF14 on ps5. If you open up another app FF14 boots you…Babysitting Ultimate. I will most likely quit when my gametime runs out and return when things are stable. The two major factors that fanbois don't see / or choose to ignore are:

1st: The Playerbase has gone skyrocket since last summer.

    2nd: The Endwalker Pre Orders

These two things led to this mess. It's on SE to analyze and plan ahead, because these two crucial factors did not happen 1 day before the so called "Early Acess". No life Neckbeards already raiding EX Primals while normal people like me sit there at the beginning of the msq because we have a life. It is frustrating. Epic fail SE!

  19. It's ridiculous to not call out the horrible queue system. I spent hours in queue to get randomly kicked out, not knowing that it's intentionally. Imagine paying a monthly sub to NOT play the game and get kicked out of queue to play the game you paid a sub to play!

  20. I'm okay with not playing for a while, I just hope they reimburse us for more every day that this issue has occurred for. Many of us have been playing consistently before the Endwalker release and paid for a month/3 months at a time. I know they said they will be giving a few free days of game time, but it should at least be for however many days this problem has gone on for. These things happen, and there are supply issues for just about everything in the world right now, so I am not getting upset the FF team for it, but it's only fair that we be compensated correctly for a subscription based game.

  21. It's a mixed bag for me. The queues are the worst ive seen in and game launch due mostly to the disconnects not the size of the line. But once your in the game is stable and smooth. The devs have communicated well I think, but while long waits were expected, the errors were not and they need to be called on it. Over all, it could he worse but it should be better.

  22. I would like to start by saying. I LOVE FFXIV. I love the new Expansion and included content. The game is great! I haven't gotten to play as much as I would like because by the time I get off of work to play I have to wait 2 1/2 hours to get into the game and then I get about a solid hour of playtime before I have to go to bed. And that's if I'm lucky! I don't blame Yoshi P or his team because I know how SQEX can be. I would have liked to see larger servers, and more space to accommodate the influx of new users and returners. I'm critical of these because I want to play more and I can't play as much as I want and the queues make it more difficult to manage my time with the game while still accomplishing responsibilities. It needs to be improved.

  23. If anyone says, yes, but Covid and silicon shortage, I'd say, then delay the launch of the new expansion until those issues are over or make every account free of charge until those shortages are over. These guys aren't perfect, they make mistakes, and just because they're way better than the WoW team doesn't mean they should get a pass. Everyone makes mistakes, but everyone should be called out on their mistakes. While there's no need to wallow in negativity, we should still hold them accountable.

  24. I love FFXIV and I can understand why people are mad but like the world is still in a semiconductor shortage and that effects servers as a whole across the board its not just SE like look at Bf2042, New world the list goes on i think SE can do something about this but i dont think its fair to say that it just SE being incompetent.

  25. Thank you for calling out the bs in the Fandom. I've had people telling me "I'm being entitled" and "it was alot worse" and I'm like how are you ok with this? I've paid $70. As a paying costumer, I want something I can actually play

  26. I’m sad my subscription card I bought (almost) two months ago is gonna run out before I can even change my toon into a bunny boy 😭😂😅 I play so many games I don’t mind waiting another month before I attempt to get into the servers. The que time is way to long for me to be sitting around waiting. I’ll try again eventually lol

  27. I hope this issue ends soon. At least find a way to make it a larger window to get back to your spot in line if you get DCed. I still haven't been able to get to the main story and I have been fighting queue's since beginning of early access. Like everyone is saying, I can handle a long queue as long as I know I am gonna get in. The small window's Ive been in the game have been insanely fun and I hope we at least get to a stable place soon
