  1. I also thought the video was good, but her community ( at least some people ) were gate keepers of her. And denied others opposing interest in here takes.

I guess i made the mistake of disagreeing with her takes, cause it did sound like ( to me personally) that she was speaking for all or the general population of the game.
    ( I know she wasnt )

But cause I'm a super casual player and I play for certain things and dont really care to kich for the hardcore/extreme aspects of the game. I probably made the mistake of saying anything at all but still stand by it.

  2. I am actually happy you made this reaction. I heard your voice as i listened to her. Specifically i heard you remind me endwalker is the expansion devleoped during covid shutdowns. This is the low point before the next expansion brings us back the quality we are used to across a 2 year patch cycle

  3. My biggest issue is the rose colored glasses she has with Bozja, that place was near dead a week after each new patch/relic step as people blew through the content. Shadowbringers also had the post 5.1 thru 5.45 mass break takers. The issue with EW isn’t some new thing that just happened this expac.

  4. Wall of text incoming.

It may be the worst expansion, but it is not a bad expansion by any stretch. The game slowed down after the main saga wrapped up in 6.0, after a loaded after loaded expansion was dropped since the game (re)launched. This is not a bad thing: many folks – me included – took the time to catch up with side things the game offer. Leveling other jobs, do PvP content, collect minions/mounts/TT cards/music rolls/glamour, do Gold Saucer stuff, achievements, finish more relics, and the list goes on and on.

Sure, she might see these elements of the game as "boring", but that isn't true for everybody. It may be the "worst expansion for content creators" if you don't know what else the game offers and how to transform these elements into something for your audience. I lost interest in Zepla's videos after a lot of what she was doing was just idling or jumping around a main hub city while giving her opinion about "nothing to do" in the game, instead of doing what she hasn't yet.

A quick glance on her public SqE char profile shows she is still to hit level cap on any of her crafters. Her Sage haven't moved off lvl70. Many old battle jobs are still not maxed. I have more achievements than she does. She can brag on some Savage gear, but she still rocks crafted gear made by someone else.

She could had done a lot more within the game instead of just ranting "bad expansion" out to the world. And while that's her opinion, it just got too amplified by others that only care about Ultimate/Savage/Extreme content and forget there is a world out there outside 8-man groups.

Now, yes, SqE should had placed the final saga elements into these recent 6.4 patches instead of right up front. This left a lot of folks with a bad taste on their mouths about "what now?". But they still added story, of things that were side effects of everything that happened. The source of Zenos' power, Zero, from the Thirteenth, was explained in these patches. ShB was an entire expansion to clear things at the First, and many consider it "great". There are also all other reflections we don't know yet what happened, and maybe we might – maybe we might not. But FFXIV is still story driven, and as far as I remember, the storytelling was one of the biggest selling points of FFXIV, so claiming "this was the worst expansion" is utterly broken.

  5. Honestly huge agree this expansion has sucked so much there is legit nothing of value to do and it feels every time we get a patch we are waiting longer and longer due to delays and less contnt and the arugennt if stop playing doesnt wirk as u can only buy a month sub and there is never enough in a patch for that its not a excuse they want u to take a break I WANT TO PLAY THE GAME I SPENT MONEY ON

  6. I think anybody who is whining about Endwalker needs to go play that dumpster fire that is WoW, and then come back and say that Endwalker is "bad". At least with Endwalker, the game is actually playable and isn't boring to the extreme. Oh, sure, combat is faster in WoW, but doing the content is so repetitive, and a lot of the content, especially the open world stuff, just basically involves you dying in 2 seconds flat to something you never saw coming and couldn't have even attempted to dodge because they think it's a good idea to have 100+ people in one area fighting a single thing. Then you try Mythic+ and find out nobody wants your zero-rated ass because everybody's using an addon that gives you a score based on how many clears you have (which will be zero for you the new player).

I see the people complaining about Endwalker as people whining about first-world problems.

  7. Beyond just Covid it’s kind just crazy to me that people forget what every expansion cycle is like in pace and content every time. There is repeatable content released during END like Criterion and a Eureka Orthos. More importantly though a lot of other future proofing things were prioritized. I also think Worst Expansion and least content filled expansion are WILDLY different things.

  8. I knew this day would come, and they finally realized it. Gearing has been garbage for a long time. Crafting is also meaningless if you can't craft BiS.

The only good thing is that being a crafter is crafting submarines from the FC to make $ and glam items. No one will buy low lv armor or food or pots for low lv content since it's easy to go through content.

FF11 enforced us to get good and craft important things to go through content that will open a new zones where the BiS is at. I said this a long time ago when I played WoW. This MMO will die out 20 something years, and the MMOs that copied this formula are pretty much near death and barely hanging on. I honestly about done with 14 and may not even try dawn trail, everyone from my family and friends are done and not even playing 14 anymore.

  9. I know it sounds cheesy, but I do think you need some measure of "padding" through really low/rare spawns/drops with to extend the longevity if you're expecting an active playerbase for months with MMOs. That's just how it goes. I want there to be a massive overhaul to the treasure map system to be able to be a much bigger multi-tier system where map fights can have a chance to reward you with pop items to get harder maps for harder fights and so on and so forth, and the hardest high tier fights will be savage difficulty and require high ilvl and have really low drop rates for their pop items

  10. I had my gripes about old summoner but this new one for EW has bored me to tears despite looking really cool. I 've taken a year off from the game and I never do that! Also I was bores to tears during the EW MSQ.

  11. I dont understand why people are so afraid of change thier are hunderets of games and we have one of the best gameing years in a long time. Take a break from FF and play Zelda TotK, Baldurs Gate3 to call the 2 biggest one but thier are more games then that. Zepla burned herself out because she played that game like I go to work and if your hobby becomes work it starts to suck.

  12. Simply put, the mmo has reached a plateau (probably did long ago). Even in modes that are new like crystalline conflict. People reach comfort, burn trough and soon move on (rinse repeat). At this point they need a new mmo or provide more avenues for player generated content from which social communities can blossom/sustain. I agree we need more mid-core content, that would actually spark second life into the game. But what that content looks like and how it fits into what they already must deliver, idk. I’m going to play FFXIV from time to time and continue just doing other hobbies like i have been.

  13. I agree. Some content like Island Sanctuary and Bozja should of been a thing that unlocks sooner, not EVERYTHING HAS TO CONNECT TO THE STORY if it means PLAYERS CAN HAVE MORE DIVERSE CONTENT SOONER!

I also advocate that ARR STILL needs a rework, in both story and how late the way content is accessed if people wanna play with their friends sooner

  14. No offense but nothing is hard in FFXIV NASA could probably teach a monkey to reach level 50 in one day.btw after the Xbox FFXIV announcement I jumped in to see changes and lasted 6 hours Ninja was 35, Pug 31 even if my Xbox friends try it I’m probably going pass.

  15. I too think Endwalker is one of the worst FF14 expansions. The climax does give a strong case of "rose tinted glasses" as a lot of people have brought up. But, the main reason why it is such a problem is because it fails to tie together the A and B plots of FF14 that led up to it. Shadowbringers swapped the A and B plots, turning the Ascians into the focus, and the Empire into their underlings. Endwalker continued this trend by making the first arc tie up the Empire story before going into the Ascian story. However, I would argue that they abandoned that as well with the final arc. For me, the biggest mistakes are tying Omega and the Dragons to Meteoin, retconning Primals based on rituals, having the Twelve be Dynamis empowered Primals, not including the creation of Ragnarok in the main story, and pretty much abandoning Dynamis in the same arc it is introduced.

  16. If they didn't cram two story expansions into one, I think it would've been less jarring and they could've planned more singular content for say ; Thavnair and Garlemald. I think in interviews they said that they wanted to just get the story over with, no wonder it felt really jarring and rushed at times. The pacing is really odd. You could've cut like 80% of Sharlayan content. That one quest talking to the researchers was 100% filler.

  17. On one hand I think I agree with you Brian, in that "this is how the game is and it has always been this way and it'll always be this way." On the other hand I think lately and surprisingly more and more people have started voting with their dollars as there have been better games coming out. FINALLY we have a lot more competition. I think this is a good time to use this and force SE into doing a better job and actually "spare no expense". Looking back at things like Diadem, Eureka, Bozja, and even some of the deep dungeon stuff, its all half baked midcore content. Its shocking because im starting to wonder if they just don't know how to make that kind of content or if Yoshi P. has just made a steadfast rule of not allowing it.

I don't have the answers obviously but I hope this extra bit of competition pushes them to do better.
