❤️ JUST AN FYI – AM NOT NEW TO FF, but i am new to Lore. I rushed through before to play with friends in end game and remember nothing as i really wasnt interested and was maining world of warcraft at the time. Left shortly after due to a bad experience in game. This time i have chose to watch every trailer, cinematic and cutscene to experience lore, learn jobs, mechanics and to actually try the game properly. So basically a oldie noob xD Hope that clears a few things 🙂

one of the best 14 video series ever lol, great video laccre!
Play them all. Most of the defensive cooldowns are the same between jobs so even if you swap between them they should all feel familiar. Find the style you like, you just have to get past the teething period of low level though which can be the worst part. Once you hit 30 they start to deviate into their specific gameplay loop until then just wing it. What could wrong go possibly.
Next up is Limit breaks! Yea all tanks are pretty good just depends on your playstyle honestly.
Jo-Cat's got a great series. fast talk, good knowledge. "Crap" guide is far from the truth, it's a short overview. watch em all, then react to the LB3's :3
As much of memes that they are, Jocat does a pretty good job at summing the jobs up, and it's definitely recommended to watch all of them.
Also having trained tank players in both WoW and FFXIV, tanking these days in FFXIV is FAR easier compared to WoW, with enmity (aggro) being almost a non-issue as long as you maintain tank stance. Best tip I could give for tanking practice is actually to try soloing FATEs in the open world since pulling multiple mobs on mob fates and tackling smaller boss FATEs on your own can help you figure out the best way of keeping yourself alive (think of it like weight training for tanking). With dungeon tanking, don't worry too much since groups in the game are always new-player friendly (the game gives bonuses if a first-timer completes a dungeon).
Very solid vid, all of what he says it still useful to this day. Dont stress about playing certain jobs, you slowly work with what you learn about it. Start off in the low levels and you naturally get better. <3 you'll do great out there I know it.
Glad to see you're enjoying ff14 and all the related creator content! If you want to check out limit breaks, take a look at the "Break the limit" video on the official FFXIV channel! 🙂
Once you feel more solid in gameplay, Dark Knight has possibly the best class storyline in the game and is worth taking to 50 or higher for that alone. But that can wait for when you're ready.
More reactions to JoCat's Crap Guides to FFXIV would be appreciated, thanks!
My favorite tanks to play are Pally/Gunbreaker. I've gotten so used to playing pally ever since I started to its kind of a bias and i really like the Wings and use them whenever I get the chance/necessary. GNB is actually just 3 dps in a trench coat with a jumpscare for healers :')
Enjoying watching your dive into FF14. Is good. If you ever do watch Limit breaks and what not, Red mage has a mandatory sunglasses requirement.
Static – A ‘static’ is just a group that you normally stick with for things like raids or extreme primals. And “Savage” is the hard mode for each raid tier.
FC – Free Company (guilds, clans, etc etc)
Prog – Progression/progress "We haven't killed the boss yet, but we are progressing through/learning the fight in order to kill it. "Prog" strats are usually very safe and designed to be 'foolproof' and simple, even at the cost of DPS."
UWU – The Weapon's Refrain (Ultimate) (Ultima Weapon Ultimate essentially).
Looking forward to the LB reaction vid.😊
