Finally all our hard work is paying off as we begin our assault on Castle Doma in FFXIV’s Stormblood Expansion.
Final Fantasy XIV is a very well constructed MMORPG, with a beginning levelling experience that surpasses any other MMO on the market. That doesn’t mean that I don’t have any complaints however…

Final Fantasy XIV is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by Square Enix. Directed and produced by Naoki Yoshida, it was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 3 in August 2013, as a replacement for the failed 2010 version of the game, with support for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and macOS releasing later. Final Fantasy XIV takes place in the fictional land of Eorzea, five years after the events of the original 2010 release. At the conclusion of the original game, the primal dragon Bahamut escapes from its lunar prison to initiate the Seventh Umbral Calamity, an apocalyptic event which destroys much of Eorzea. Through the gods’ blessing, the player character escapes the devastation by time traveling five years into the future. As Eorzea recovers and rebuilds, the player must deal with the impending threat of invasion by the Garlean Empire from the north.

More about Final Fantasy XIV:
“Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG and features a persistent world in which players can interact with each other and the environment. Players create and customize their characters for use in the game, including name, race, gender, facial features, and starting class. Unlike in the original release, players may only choose to be a Disciple of War or Magic as a starting class—Disciples of the Hand and Land are initially unavailable. Players must also select a game server for characters to exist on. While servers are not explicitly delineated by language, data centers have been placed in the supported regions (i.e., North America, Europe, Japan) to improve the communication latency between the server and the client computer and players are recommended to choose a server in their region. Regardless of server or language, the game features a large library of automatically translated game terms and general phrases which allow players who speak different languages to communicate.”

So sad i missed this
I will remember your words…
Hot.
Finish the thumbnail's sentence.
Sadu is best girl.
That part when he was holding the roof made me flashback to The Legend of the Dragoon cutscene with Rose.
Yotsuyo's story is truly tragic.
She is so much deeper than what it looks. Her story will make you feel empathy towards her.
Hien has one of the best voice actors. He skillfully says lines that would sound like scenery-chewing bombast if delivered by anyone else.
The VA for Urianger is another absolute genius. The thees and thous from him sound natural and not stilted like so many other fantasy actors would do.
I've always loved this scene because it's so quintessential samurai mythology. The contentment for Gosetsu to die in this moment, after the long journey, because it's in service to his lord was just spot on.
As to your comment about Yotsuyu – how a person might have empathy for others in downtrodden situations… yeah maybe. After years and years of therapy.
Think about her monologue there.
Childhood trauma being worked ragged and likely beaten by her parents.
Adolescent trauma being beaten and abused by her forced marriage husband.
Adult trauma of being sold to the brothel and everything that entails for however long it was for her to begin spying to the Empire to gain her freedom from said brothel.
Her entire life is a series of traumatic events.
I sympathized strongly with Yotsuyu. Abused as a child, no one helped her from the village, sold as basically a slave to her husband at a young age, then sold into sex trafficking after he died.
They're lucky nukes didn't exist in Doma, that's all I'm saying.
No gameplay of Grynewaht? D: If you don't have any gameplay of the 4.X trial I am going to be so so sad that we don't get any reaction for my favorite normal mode trial 🙁
The flavor text for the wind-up Hien is "Be proud, my owner, be proud."
Little fun detail, the ninja with alphinaud and alisaie when the barrier gets deactivated just before attacking the castle is none other than Oboro, the guy who teaches you how to be a ninja if you pick up that job. I was maining ninja that expansion so I absolutely squealed when he showed up in the msq :3
Normal people would feel sympathy with the downtrodden, someone going thru what you went thru? Nah, not when the downtrodden people are the ones that put you thru hell or turned a blind eye to your suffering. The feeling of hate and the want for vengeance is normal. Just a matter of if and how you act on those feelings. Yotsuyu not that bad imo.
Whaaa, the Steppe is my favourite part of Stormblood by far. To each its own, I guess.
It also irked be the first time when everybody did not immediately leave while Gosetsu was holding the weight of the roof above his head. But oh well…
Once upon a time Azula was my major crush. When we were introduced to Yugiri, well… I have a type >_>
You know what they say… "War is weeks of boredom surrounding moments of absolute terror" – all those 'boring things' you had to do are just as important. 🙂
Magnai: Fly me closer, I want to hit it with my axe.
Magnai is a dick, but the man just wants to be loved.
It's funny to see other perspectives through the story. The Azim Steppe was one of my favorite parts of Stormblood, I didn't find it tedious at all. But I played a Xaela so I was happy to finally meet my people so I'm probably biased. Then I'm neutral towards Minfilia but I hate Lyse with a burning passion.
But at least we can all agree that Gotestu is great! It was hard saying goodbye.
I wish you left some of the dungeons and trials in your videos.
Okay, im going to be real with you.
I wanted Yotsuyu to destroy me. I wanna be her DoMAN.
No reaction to "little sun"? My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
I wish you would show the dungeons. The fights 🙁
One comment, Krojak – she's a Sadomasochist. She hates life, and herself, and she loves pain, the same pain that makes her hate life. She visits that pain on others to repay her for the pain they caused. But enjoys it both ways. Why else 'leave it to fate' instead of putting a decoy and blowing the fortress with you safely out?
Brosetsu will always be in our hearts.
Heavensward and Shadowbrigers both get loads of credit as being the best expansions and I would probably agree but Stormblood has some real charm imo. I really liked Yotsuyu as an antagonist and Hien and Yugiri were great characters also, all three had fantastic voice actors. The Namazu beast tribe quests were also brilliant, I enjoyed every minute of them.
final fantasy is like game of thrones every favorite character dies 😀
Hien's a terrible leader
as cool as this was the boring parts were too much to bare. though i have a little more sympathy for Yotsuyu
by far the most frustrating moment, due to how long they overstay
Man I love Yotsuyu
For all that many dislike Lyse, and I can see their point, Stormblood did showcase that she's kind of a supreme badass as a fighter 🙂
Well yes, Yotsuyu intentionally bobby trapped the whole castle for last resort. So yes, ther's explosive.
Gotta be honest tho. Yotsuyu is a total dommy mommy. Just, oof, step on me.
