  1. A subtle thing- in Elpis, everyone considers us just a familiar, referring to us as an 'it'.

Emet-Selch's recreation of Amaurot had the shades of memory consider us children.

A sign, perhaps, of how Emet's protestations about how he viewed the Sundered were more than a little bit trying to convince himself.

  2. it makes sense now how we see the shades too :3 it's explained that the ancients always kept their hoods up and masks on. no distinguishable features, save for the color of souls and voice, not that everyone could see souls. so the shades appearing the way they did is because of how they lived. plus it did a good job of hiding this little reveal :3 and ngl, Emet being tired of Azem's antics and Hyth's little chuckling really makes me want to see our ancient self, see what trouble we really did cook up in the past xD

  3. I wasn’t a big fan of this and it’s when the expansion went downhill for me. Feel like Ishikawa threw away four expansions worth of content to indulge her ascians are ancient Greeks and Emet selch is the only character that matters because I made him fantasy. The fact that they created literally every monster and civilisation in the game even down to the fairies in eureka just trivialises a lot of the previous lore, such as the tonberry curse etc. Was never really a fan of the Ascians and this wasn’t what I wanted in an ending but I know a lot of people loved it. Personally thought she did Garlemald and Zenos dirty, and Emet and G’raha should have stayed in SHB where they had perfect endings to their arcs.
