  1. Why does Blizzard's version look so gay even though it's basically the same thing? They should make a law to tear the original Warcraft rights and Wow Classic rights from Blizzard and give them to someone much more competent hands for caregiving as some kind of historical protection initiative. They could make a new narrative that respects the original lore and a better game on top.

  2. I have to say, this actually hurts. It feels slimy like one of my precious memories is being sold as a cheap knockoff. The idea of "arbiter crystals" being sold and confused for azem crystals is truely awful

  3. They should copy having in one character all classes, gold, achievements, grind, everything so I don't have to do all over again if I don't want to just to have a healer or a tank.
Also WoW is way behind all mmorpgs without real housing

  4. Blizzard never knew how to write a villain. They came in 3 varieties, comic book villain, corrupted or mind controlled. That's it. So either they were a mustache twirling evil so ridiculous that you can't take it seriously, or they aren't at fault and you are supposed to feel pity. Zero variety.

  5. Zovaal the Jailer is basically one of the Unsundered Ascians. But one thing that's missing from Zovaal compared to the Ascians as a whole, they were IN THE GAME from the beginning instead of being put into the game 15 years later like Zovaal was.

The Ascians were much more important to FF's Story than Zovaal was in WoW. lol

  6. It's utterly pathetic. But the argument, "it's all over Twitter" ignores that Twitter is probably the easiest place to flood with fake accounts. There are far fewer people on Twitter in the first place, and even fewer who actually post or pay much attention at all. It's the one place Blizzard can send an army of bored, abused interns, & try to change the overwhelming narrative of, "This game sucks."

  7. Imagine if FF14 took WoW's new "dancing minigame" (i think it's part of the Darkmoon Faire) and makes it with a better system also by using the Orchestrion rolls (Market Board orchestrion rolls stonks) and do 1v1 dance battles with other players to your favorite songs, that's something i'd want them to "take inspiration" from the next WoW patch in return to this lol. I don't know how it would work but i'd get addicted to it and gamba with players for gil on who wins.

  8. Why is this such a surprise. The base concept of Wow was ripped out of the pages of Warhammer. They got the idea to make World of Warcraft after seeing how successful Everquest and Ultima Online where. Even going as far as copying their aesthetics. I know this because I used to play Everquest and Ultima Online before migrating to Wow.
Blizzard has been creatively bankrupt from the beginning, there only original IP and story being Diablo. Overwatch is just a reskin of Team Fortress.
So why is this so surprising?

  9. Actiblizzard: Let me copy your homework.
FF14: Okay, but mess with it to make it look like you didn't just copy it-
Actiblizzard: – totally ignores that, and puts in a few items for the shop – Sorry, what was that??
This is just- saddening to see really. I get that games borrow ideas from one another… but… this is daylight robbery at this point lol.

  10. I can tell how Shadowlands ends, the entire WoW universe explodes at the end and then a World of Warcraft 2 trailer plays with release date 2026 with a message underneath " we won't be updating the current Wow game till WoW 2 is finished, have fun all!"
And even if its something else, we all know it will suck.

  11. I like FFXIV too. But this isn't something "bad" blizzard did. It's almost certainly one lazy artist plagarizing, maybe on purpose. The shape isn't all that unique but it's obviously a copy. But its not something that the entire wow team decided, oh lets copy this. If you want to have a go at WoW pick any number of the other actually bad things to talk about not this nonsense

  12. I wanna give them the bennefit of the doubt but the way theyre marketing their new patch as "the end of the storyline that started back in WC3" makes it so obvious theyre trying to copy what XIV is doing

  13. Now now, I'm sure this'll be a brilliant and original story, of the Jailer sowing chaos in an attempt to 'rejoin' all the afterlives, and your attempt to bring proper water physics back to the realm

  14. FFXIV SPOILERS AHEAD.
The reason The Reveal of Emet, the truth of the Ascians Zodiark and Hydalen all worked, is because The 14 team had at least a general idea that this was gonna be the plot from the get go. They have been leading up to it.

  15. Reading through your chat as you go on about Tyrande and Malfurion, and see Jenobioni saying the night elves aren't known for their mercy.
I was going to counter this, but not only can I not think of anything to counter it, I just find myself thinking 'no, no, actually quite true.'

Illidan was imprisoned for 10,000 years because he 'infiltrated' the Legion's forces during the War of the Ancients to undo the demons from within, AND for also taking water from the Well of Eternity and creating a new one.
The Warsong Clan was attacked outright – not approached and asked 'what do you think you're doing?' – for cutting down trees in Ashenvale.
And hell, they even went on the warpath in Darkshore because of what happened to Teldrassil. (Warfront, I believe it was.)

So this whole handwavey, 'no we magically forgive you for Teldrassil lol' is just… horrid. It's inconsistent with the night elves as a race. Hell, it's inconsistent with what happened AN EXPANSION AGO.

It's no wonder they're copying so much, and not just from FFXIV (looking at Jailnos as well!). They've run out of original ideas.

  16. i dont play wow, but tbh that shape kinda already looks like things from the expansion already that i've seen. like the other things heads. yellow and the circle make it seem more like a copy, but i genuinely believe it's a coincidence. i dont think its the art team thats the problem

  17. The saddest part about all of this whole where the F- is this coming from? Bs is the fact of 80% of important lore drops are outside of game!

The books, the short stories, the comics (to an extent), and even their YouTube has very high impact lore for good stories potential… yet in game it's barely even a footnote and EXPECTS you to have seen it. All so they pull this put of there asses without work in-game.

Even all that info is just vague enough so they can put all those needed answers in a separate source to lore drop on us. cough*Sylvanas novel*cough
Combine with there of point story telling and it's no wonder everything feels half chopped with obvious stitches holding together that's the jailer.
