I didn't know dragons at the power to enthrall people the same way primals do
It sounds Noble despite how evil he and his father and their men were for what they did they murdered a friend of their Kingdom of their people in the name of power all because Thordan was delusional and scared
You completely forgot about the war of the Magi
He claims he wants to repent for his sins and yet he went about killing more dragons to protect the people from his evil Deeds how is that repenting?
Ratatoskr herself told Thordan about the power of a dragon’s eyes, among other things, in the spirit of understanding between their peoples (Encyclopedia Eorzea 1). And while it’s unknown if Thordan was planning a strike at the dragons prior to this, the attack on Ratatoskr came about after she stated that Niddhog believed that mortals were too weak to protect the star. Thordan seemed to think that meant that dragonkind might try and take over from mortals (Level 80 Dragoon quest “Gone but not Forgiven”).
I wonder if Gibrillont in the Forgotten Knight is the actual knight that walked away. If he was one of the ones that devoured the eyes, he may not age.

Tl;Dr: Thordan was a piece of sh*t. His son was a piece of sh*t. The only chad was the one Forgotten Knight who made a tavern of the same name 😀
