samurai needs a party buff U.U
i'd like that they don't remove skillls, instead make a trait for em, global cooldowns make them off global cooldown, with some useful changes, even dmg, like shield bash, make it a counteratack, a off global cooldown buff that have 3 seconds duration with 20 seconds cooldown that mitigates 30% of the incoming damage from next hit and deals 200 potency dmg and dissappears after that hit, like those kind of changes for useless spells and skills…. idk like some sort of "evolution".
Is it weird that I'd like for them to get rid of onslaught on WAR for a completely new gap closer utilizing throw tomahawk? Like using tomahawk would let you have a draw-in effect or you can gap close to that target hit by the tomahawk. Oh and also letting tanks get gap closers and the second charge at the same level would be nice as well especially running synced lower level content.
Please christ let Bard songs stack so two bards on roulette isnt a tragedy.
Also give Scholar a 700 potency st heal.
Changes I would like for Black Mage :
1) To me it is extremely annoying how rng-dependent server ticks are when trying to change back from ice phase to fire phase. Sometimes you get your mp refilled immediately in a B3->B4 combo, sometimes you have to wait 3 seconds for server tick to refill your mp, which really breaks the flow of your rotation. Proposal for a Blizzard 4 trait : If already in Umbral Ice 3, using Blizzard 4 recovers 10000 mp (full mp). That way a B3->B4 combo recovers full mp and BLMs no longer are server tick rng-dependent. And no, installing a third party tool to visualize server ticks is not a proper solution!
2) Reduce cooldown of Between The Lines and Aetherial Manipulation to 1 second each. These skills already have a rather low cooldown and they dont do any damage, so this wouldn't bring dps advantages in fights, but would make these skills far more reliable and 2 less cooldowns to keep track of.
3) Lucid Dreaming is pretty much useless for all situations for BLM. Have Lucid Dreaming work in Astral Fire phase.
4) Blizzard 2 is useless at higher level, change it to a weaker version of Freeze : Change Freeze 1 into Freeze 2 (100 potency targeted aoe), and change Blizzard 2 into Freeze 1 (50 potency targeted aoe). This frees one action bar slot, since we can just use freeze 1/2 with a single button.
5) Reduce Aspect Mastery level from 72 to 50 so we can always use Freeze directly after Flare, no matter the level.
6) Umbral Soul changes : Make it a 2 sec cd oGCD skill so we can weave it in between Xeno / Thunder-procs while moving.
7) Just as an idea : How about a skill that absorbs your Ley Lines and gives -10% casting time/recast time for you ( or the entire party? OMG Utility!!!) for 15 seconds? Would be useful for situations where you have to abandon your LL due to Aoes… Also, clever BLMs could use this at the very end of their LL duration to get first LL effect for 29 seconds and then 15 sec mobility with reduced casting time.
Classes need to be more engaging and fun. Until that happens I'll be sticking to Blue Mage.
One obvious change? Since healers will be split into shield and pure healers(which I like), the next step is to split tanks into mitigation and self sustain tanks and giving them distinctive utility.
Monk needs some more intensive work on top of the rework. The Fist Stances are still garbage, Chakra is still barely a system and people still hate the RNG, and Riddle of Fire is so overloaded that it just feels miserable every time you go into it. I'd also say it needs some sort of new mechanic on top of everything since GL isn't a thing anymore.
I think for BLM it would be cool to have xenoglossy give something like 800 or 1600 mana for another despair, or 6000 for another rotation of fire 4 x3
Paladin: I'd like a Sword Oath "burn skill", maybe that big shield bash in the Endwalker trailer, where it'll use all your Oath stacks, so at 1 stack it's a DPS gain, but at 2-3 it's more clean alignment of your rotation. Holy Spirit 2, to make Req casts more valuable, Atonement is better right now. Cover I want to get a regen effect, so its good for soaking autos and use for sustain in a dungeon. Then honestly… AOE Clemancy. Clemency is still a DPS loss, but I think AOE Clem would be a nice gimmick.
Warrior: Remove auto DH, please. Upgrade Storms Path, Upgrade Tomahawk for higher potency and gives 20 gauge, and then maybe another OGCD AOE/Single target
Dark Knight: Maybe Upgrade Souleater, or have a 2nd combo path. Add Climhazard, in whatever reason lmao Change Delirium to be a Blood and MP regen, that increases skill speed. Remove Salted Earth, and add a 2nd shared cooldown skill to Abbysal Drain, but for single target, and add charges. Alternatively, maybe consolidate Blood Weapon into this new Delirium, and have a new 2nd skill thats more focused and unique. Give Living Dead and 50% healing recived buff.
Gunbreaker: Personally, I find Continuation REALLY clunky, it feels alot like HW Ninja Mudras right now, in terms of what you can and can't weave. I'd rather they shifted it to be much more free form, allow more animation cancelling. Aside from that, add a 3rd Power Charge slot, PURELY for wiggle room, GNB is kind of… locked in to a 2 combos, burn one or two charges, where as WAR and DRK have a bit more options in terms of combo flexibility.
Potentially, add a new GCD that cleans up the 30 and 60s rotation, it feels REALLY messy right now, in my opinion, there's a lot going on, and again, very little wiggle room.
I've been playing board lately and, I'm not sure I agree with making the songs affect the bard as well because the bard does get a benefit from the song already. What I DO think needs to be added though is to allow the different songs to stack with other bards' songs. As the bard, our DPS is truncated to make up for the fact that we are giving that loss of DPS to the rest of the party (Balance!). But if there are two bards in the party, only one of them is giving their reduction away as a buff. So I feel like my usefulness is diminished when I end up in a party with another bard.
Buff timings come in 5 main cooldown varieties, 60s, 90s, 120s, 180s and bard. Can't believe you didn't mention changing raging strikes to 90s but making it stronger to compensate.
Making Embolden a 5% constant instead of diminishing is a direct nerf so no thanks. I have dreams of 5th gcd omni-embolden with samurai and summoner in the party.
Worried they're gonna gut astro again with the new expansion. Right now diurnal is too similar to whm, and if we lose nocturnal it's just gonna be a cut and copy with a few more ogcds
Hey you forgot blue mage 🙁
I still say spirits within should not be tied to health….
As much as I know they won't (considering how much work they put into shadowbringers for it) I wish they would change the cards again into something a little more interesting. I know from a high-end player perspective it's fine, you match the things and it works, but I really want some kind of flavor back for each card; of course, don't turn it back into what it was, just something new that can accommodate both the gameplay and the lore.
For Ninja I would like to see shadow fang return to being a combo action. Having a constant dot up is nice and it gives us something else to do during the downtime. In fact I actually think I might prefer for shadow fang to take the place of gust slash in the main combo with increased potency for initial damage and a shorter dot duration.
I really wish we could get wyrm waves on ogcd's like fester and painflare again, for me personally the entire bahamut phase feels so empty this expansion because of how few buttons we actually press during bahamut/phoenix's respective phases (agree on everything else you said for Smn)
Bard aoe feels like shit. Needs an overhaul. They need an attack that's like fester. Spread dots to every enemy with huge dmg falloff. To help with aoe procs
For PLD, take away the HP requirement for the extra dmg on spirits within. Annoying me way too often when I'm the one pulling or MTing an encounter.
all they need to do for whm is make the dot last 18 seconds again like in sb, so you just get more chances to weave naturally in a fight
Ten Chi Jin and Assasinate are my two gripes as someone who mains NIN. I wish we could move during TCJ and Assasinate mainly because animation lock is awful + 200 dh crit is really not a lot tbh. Other than that I don't want them to do the same mistake they did with 5.0 and a high cpm for low damage .
Stacking shields please!!!
Sch needs some love, another damage skill and a reworked Selene PLEASE
Make Selene a damage pet so instead of Embrace she just damages enemies. Great for Scholars who want to be pushing out more dps
Still got a lot to improve on monk. But I think they should make the final move during Perfect Balance Stance shift. The Double dragon kick rotation after your final bootshine feels super clunky even though it is optimal.
For Monk: Increase the duration of the DoT to match 2 Twin Snakes. Add a rear positional that buffs Snap Punch. The result is that you can afford the mental energy for the other 2 skills they're giving you by 90, because your rotation is consistently 3 side, 3 back instead of the present 3,3,4,3,3,2 nonsense.
For Samurai: Let your AoE skills grant the buffs they currently extend. Spending time getting those going during pulls just feels bad, and it can't be used to get the buffs faster in inappropriate situations since it's still 2 GCDs per buff.
For Dark Knight: Gain a trait where the shadow self procs for free if you get the Living Dead debuff. Not for balance reasons, I just think it'd be badass and would create interesting options for raid groups.
Pet ai changes for smn and sch would be a godsend. Ghosted actions are painful and given that phoenix changes your actions to an instant cast 2 gcd combo suggests you have more freedom in mobility but the ghosted pet attacks from phoenix trying to catch back up with you penalize you for trying to take advantage of that increased mobility. Not to mention with pet ai as it is now makes for some potentially very awkward (especially on controller) optimizations in fights with downtime like E11S where you can micro-manage your pet while doing mechanics to delay your raid buff while still keeping it on cooldown. Couldn't agree more on energy drain changes for smn as it just feels tacked on as is now.
Give sch instant cast summons. Smn has it, why not sch? Dps applications of aetherflow on sch are pathetic now as of the nerf to sch's version of energy drain making ruin2>energy drain an absolutely tiny dps increase over standard broil usage. Some kind of change to increase potential dps value of aetherflow on sch would be nice.
As a scholar main, pet AI in general does need a fix yeah. But the real problem with the kit itself right now is Seraph; she has no interactivity with any of the rest of the kit, no synergy at all. She straight up locks out out of TWO capstone abilities while active. Consolation is a good skill to have when you summon her but that's all she has. Give Seraph some flexible use around dissipation and aetherpact, give me a reason to use her off cooldown besides a slightly stronger embrace. Give me some effects for popping her and then dissipation, or vice versa. Give me SOME reason to want to use what's supposed to be the best thing we get in ShB for more than just raidwide spam mitigation.
DNC has a huge issue with WILD personal dps variance. The sheer amount of '50% procs' that you rely on is far too many. There have been pulls in E12S where I do 19k going into statues, other pulls I'm doing 16k. Did nothing different, play it the same exact way every single time. They really need to tighten up the procs.
Bit wishlist-y, but my thoughts:
Healers: For healers in general, it's hard to really say what I want to see knowing they're all getting some level of rework, but assuming SE keeps to the shield/pure healer split, I'd like to see them also split between personal strength and utility. Let WHM/Sage have the higher personal numbers and be easier for new healers to pick up, and give SCH/AST their varied utility skills and job flavor back.
For SCH, I think they need to really figure out what they're doing with the fairy. If it's going to stay like it is currently, it's should honestly just be a trait that summons the fairy when you switch to SCH, like how Sneak works for DoL – there's no situation where it's ever the correct choice to not have the fairy out, so just go ahead and take that option away. Giving us back 2 pets with different skills is of course a popular option. Or, and I'm not really sure how I feel about this idea myself, make it like it is (was? haven't gone in on SCH in forever…) in PVP, where the fairy isn't a constant thing, but you build up fairy gauge to summon her for large burst/HoTs, sorta like Automaton Queen. It would also be nice to get a capstone ability that doesn't… actively interfere with the usage of our other capstone abilities. (Also please upgrade Ruin 2 to not be the most boring spell in the game, visually. And I'm still mad about Art of War just being Aura Blast, and no one will ever change my mind that it's because SE panicked at the last second and realized they forgot to give us an AoE skill *again*.)
WHM: Double down on the heal/DPS interaction with Lilies. I don't really play WHM enough to have detailed ideas, but it's the start of a cool system.
DNC:
Esprit spender – I don't want just a single target Saber Dance, that's lazy and boring. But an oGCD dump similar to RDM's Reprise would be nice to have for Flourish windows.
Dances – Don't think I really want a 3rd dance, but something that interacts with our dances. Ideas here include a Continuation style skill used between steps, an "Encore" used either after a dance or after a dance's buff falls off, or "Danse à Trois" to temporarily partner a second person.
Dance Partner – Something that actually cares about the position of your partner. I'm imaging something like "Relay", where you toss your chakram to your partner, doing damage in the line between you.
SMN:
There's just too much going on here, and barely any of it is connected to anything else. If I was going to take a shot at redesigning it, I think the biggest change would be removing egis as they currently exist. Make them short, shared cooldowns that summon the egi to the field as a semi-pet, similar to Living Shadow – basically a DoT with a fancy animation that comes in, does it's thing, then leaves. Add in Ramuh-egi, and we could have 2 single target and 2 AoE ones to cycle between, with their cooldown/duration such that you nearly always have something summoned. I'd then re-tie Trance/Demis to summoning the Egis similar to how trance used to be tied to Aetherflow usage.
I've also seen someone float the idea of if egis are going to stay, they might get trait upgraded into Warring Triad-egi, which… I don't hate.
Less thought out, but just idea from someone who occasionally plays it casually:
RDM:
I agree on wanting some sort of AoE finisher. I also really hope they don't add yet another step to the melee/finisher combo. Throwing out a random idea, I'd like to see them get something similar to Inner Release that lets them ignore their mana balance for long enough to do a full melee combo. So being able to do something like [build up 80/80 > combo > Release > 2nd combo w/ opposite finisher > Manification > 3rd combo].
I would love if the 2 'little summoner pet spells' could be off global Cd, most of time i prefer to ignore em to spam ruin 3~4 instead to use it
I would like to see some bonus effects for each stance outside of the main weapon skills. since you can use every ogcd and ssstar without a stance I would like them to have some kind of effect when used during one.
They need to make the way you heal unique again as well as revert the dps changes.
mn only needs anatman change? as a MNK main, I can say that its freaking boring right now, id like more variation, and now that GL is gone, maybe a 4th form combo that interacts with chakra would be a nice addition
I don't know how warrior plays at 80 (still grinding through Stormblood) but I gotta say that I am a bit sick of the Storm eyepath combo. Add something ogcd like upheaval, maybe something to modify Storm's Eye Storm's Path (similar to how infuriate modifies fell cleave) or anything to spice up the rage building combos. Spamming the same three buttons over and over again is just way too damn boring.
I'd honestly like summoner to become a trance dancer of sorts. have 3-4 core skills that get augmented everytime you change into a different trance with like mayb 3-5 different trances that you would cycle pending on what you need between single target or aoe. With some CDs that improve the flow of the gameplay. Currently their biggest problem aside from their identity crisis is pet ai just doesn't work well. If they do away with pet auto attacks and made the pet more of an animation aesthetic for your skills it would solve most of the issues.
I would get rid of Storm eye entirely and just buff the class. Any buff that requires 100% uptime to me just seams like a waste of a button. And maybe it’s just me but if they could shave a second off Upheavals CD I feel it would fit nicer into the rotation. Infuriate I would just take away it giving gage cause that can be annoying as well
As a Bard main I like the suggestion:
1. AOE dots so I don't need to apply the dots while the tank pulls and have to shoot more dots in-between each arrow rain to make sure all mobs have the dots.
2. buffs apply to bard ( yes please)
However one suggestion I would like to add is giving bard some more support on top of that right now you have a quick defense buff you can pop and a dispel effect which is good however compared to stormbloods support its very lacking. Right now I would say bard is basically a slightly worse dancer and would love to see Bard brought up to Dancers level in terms of utility. Because Bards damage is lacking a but in terms of consistent DPS it would be nice to get more party utility while still keeping what Shadow bringers gave the Job. Because I do like the shadowbringer changes in terms of how it feels to shoot that bow but it took away a lot of Support in exchange a bit to much.
Give warrior more spell to use during the enraged than just the fell cleave. Spamming one button for 10 seconds isn't fun to do
Potentially controversial:
Swap the effect of warriors and dark knights ultimate ability; as in swap living dead and holmgang so that warrior is the one needing the heals dark just doesn't die for a few seconds after falling below 1hp.
It makes more sense that the tank that revolves around self-healing and buffing healing recived is the one who needs to have max health healed up. And make it so that the health healed is the max health at time of poping the CD so warrior can use their max hp increase without issue. And as with dark knight currently, the warrior has to actually "die" for the effect to go off.
i only want fixing the Mechanist high ping weaving problem
Please take the beast gage usage off of warriors gap closer
ART OF WAR is ugly. they need to change the look of it for the love of god.
