  1. That Starlight Dodo looks soooo goood! <3 You did an amazing job with the presentation, I was literally drooling at the end result. Feeling kind of mixed with this one. The WoW and Skyrim cookbooks both stuck with making the food look like it came from a fantasy setting and with the FF14 you've got the Starlight Dodo right next to baked fish with a picture that looks like it came out of any generic cookbook. I know it stays true to the source but couldn't they have gussied it up a little bit?

  2. Welcome to Eorzea, fellow Culinarian! We hope you enjoy your stay!
FFXIV is absolutely insane with worldbuilding and lore. Be it jokes or info tidbits, it all adds up so well.
And the food looks *so good*, ahah.
I actually run a store in-RP, and sell food items I made myself. Finger sandwiches, bubble chocolate, stews, etc.
If you're on the Aether DC, maybe I'll have to ask you to stop by, ahah.

Edit: I saw the Salmon muffin recipe for a second and wanted to say that, yes, I also have that! It is a pain to get the ingredients for! Fishing! Ahahahahah (help).
I genuinely have a 'problem'. I collect food in every game I play.

  3. Welcome to Eorzea!! o/ Just a long-time player topping by to say I hope you enjoy the journey, and that I really enjoyed your coverage of the cookbook!

As you head deeper into the game, I highly recommend re-visiting the little bits of Lore at the start of each recipe. They actually make all sorts of fun references to people and things in-game that'll make more sense the farther in you are.

(My personal favorite is the intro for hot chocolate. Whenever you get access to the Firmament in the game, check out the item description for each grade of Rock Salt, it's hilarious!)

  4. Great video, as per usual. The dodo looked so nice! I never made any kind of bird like this, how does the stuffing affect the taste of the meat?
Also on a semi-related note: have you considered checking out the Destiny 2 cookbook?

  5. I.left a comment in one of your previous videos suggesting a review for this and you replied with "it was next on the list". I'm glad the book got a positive review considering i broke from anticipation last night and order my own. Awesome channel

  6. Uh, you learn the world through the game and then make the food… I don't know, that comment was a bit weird, but then again as you stated in the beginning of the video you haven't played it much.

  8. One of the things I love about the book is not only do they have really wonderful and interesting recipes, but the flavour text atop actually does have text of Gyohan and Mogria meeting different characters through the story. And as someone who has finished the main story line, it made me so happy to know that main story characters and job characters even pop up in the story. Cant wait to try cooking some with my own book soon!

  9. I'd LOVE to see you do breakfast, dessert, and maybe even snacks from this cookbook if it has them.

Also, good on this cookbook for giving instructions on perfect duck. I feel like nothing is more disappointing than tough and dry poultry. That glaze sounds like it'd be awesome on not just duck, but also turkey and chicken.

  10. Does it have Archon Loaf? The game makes it sound like the worst stuff ever, but feels to me like it could go well with some cheese, malt vinegar, and a dash of Old Bay.
