With the release of the Steamdeck, is something going on behind the scenes that’s keeping games from being supported on Steamdeck, or is that just the nature of the business?

Bungie confirmed they would ban players for using steam Deck.
The new launcher checks your running windows then verifies that and lets you login via steam, it seems to require this once right now but nothing is stopping square making this a daily check.
Playing D2 on a portable device was my primary incentive for getting a Steamdeck in the first place. Glad I held off. Still pretty ridiculous though, no matter the reason
That Stadia contract is an interesting idea, because FFVIX is also on Stadia.
I know that PSO2 NGS does not work with Proton, and as a result, The Steamdeck, as its 3rd-party anti-cheat software (GameGuard) is incompatible and unable to run on it and NGS is dependent on that process to run or it won't start. I imagine a lot of MMOs, including FFXIV, and including FFXI, have similar built-in software that might be incompatible as well, and said anti-cheat software might not be made in-house, like NGS and many other online games.
I just want ffxiv on Xbox
What is Steamdeck? Was my first question. I assumed it was related to Steam and that’s correct, as it’s hardware produced by Steam or the mother corporation Valve. A portable game console. It’s become more and more a necessity to have games available in all platforms, especially since there are now, more platforms. It’s something of a conundrum. I keep forgetting FFXIV still isn’t available for Xbox players. I’m not affected by this but it does seems like a wasted opportunity. So what if Microsoft and Sony don’t get along, money speaks louder right? Hmmm… 🤔 Thank you guys for the interesting video! Hope things are going well for Chris and family in Romania. Stay safe. ❤️
Gabe plays FFxiv so thats helps they get to work.
Bungie specifically mentioned that since Linux is so open to modifications that they will potentially ban you for possibility of hacking. If you manage to install windows on steam deck I suppose that could work Instead.
My guess is that relaxing the options for their anti-cheat software will increase the number of bots using Remote Function Calls to automate mining, run multibox setups for bot accounts, etc.
What they probably don't realise is that KVM software has existed for decades.
