What WoW needs is persistence. Player housing is a part of that. But just one part.
Reason why i love Swtor… Player housing… Guild housing… guild ships… with loaaaads of decorations.
I don't know if the structure of warcraft allows us to have a housing system, with the graphics engine we use, like what we see in FF14 and other games, but the truth is that even that doesn't work if other things aren't modified within the game and within Blizzard's current philosophy for its goals with the game. And there is also a lot of resistance and indifference to this type of content within Blizzard, and we would probably have again some corrupted wish delivered with a housing system, instead of what we want, given the distance and estrangement of Blizzard with the community of players make it very difficult for them to listen to us and talk to us about what they may or may not be able to do. I confess that I don't expect anything from the current development team, as for them everything is very well done and that only the ungrateful children present in the game refuse to eat their vegetables.
Just coming on once again to say It's honestly to painful for me to listen to people talking about Wow at this point with the details in the lawsuit, clicking off now, hope you guys will eventually focus on content that doesn't make me feel gross just seeing it posted, this is a me problem, just wanna be clear, looking forward to seeing some straight up FF14 content from you guys.
Yes
Player housing isn't needed. It would be something else to time gate and make into mobile type of game .
Having homes on different planets and moons in SWTOR is sweet. They've added new locations over time.
Thank god I uninstalled WoW like last year and utterly got rid of anything Blizzard or Activision on my computer… Before the shit literally hit the fan.
As someone who has a house in 14, nah, housing isn't a required ingredient in an MMO. Just thinking back to my RO days, guilds would carve out their hangout spots in the towns, and you'd have people coming and going between leveling or farming guild war supplies, the resident gargoyle lurking in the corner, "outsiders" coming to hang with friends, etc. Our little hangouts that existed within that world always felt more personal and natural than any kind of housing in the MMOs I've played since. What's missing these days is that greater sense of community and just being part of a larger world, and the towns and worlds themselves feel a lot smaller today than what I had back in that crappy 16-bit game. I don't know how you bring that back without destroying a lot of the conveniences people come to expect these days.
Garrisons are the closest thing to player housing WoW has ever had. Understand that despite negative feelings about how it hurt the overall experience of the game due to how impactful it was in keeping players there, it was something players CHOSE to do. Player housing does not have to have anywhere close to all the things Garrisons do, but the appeal and idea was widely enjoyed. Hell, if it were just the interaction with NPCs and option to build structures (with or without minimal game impact) and furnish, that'd already be a hit.
Something Matt neglected to mention about relic is that the stats are customizable. And even the earlier steps have more materia slots than a raid weapon
Bozja is its own form of Content, it is mostly separate from the rest of the game, although, you need to do it for your relic weapon. It has , mostly, fates (little world events) that scale with the amount of players doing them, field bosses (critical encounters), there are occasionally 24-48 man raids popping up , you also can use special abilities to really power up your class if done right, If you beat certain field bosses without getting hit, you can get invited to Duels (a solo boss encounter) that is pretty difficult and gets you titles and mounts as rewards.
If I was a 12yo girl…then yes, it might help
Player housing isn't the answer. FFXIV only has player housing for friends of the Devs/GMs, and streamers/YouTube creators. 99% of players will never own a house. Despite that FFXIV is doing 20x better than wow in every metric with the the exception of PVP which also sucks in wow now days
They are adding a lottery system to try and better hide the favoritism despite it being just as easy to create more housing plots. Literally just a number they can change in 5 seconds in the engine tools.
love how bellular is already ignoring the issue at hand with the lawsuit and poor treatment of employees.
simping for blizzard is just sad at this point
yes it is. https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/player-housing-can-save-world-of-warcraft/961566
player housing forum post. read it
What the game needs is more reasons to play it for people who arn't top end mythic raiders or M+ players. Housing would be fun, but I also love the idea of a more permanent timewalking mode so each xpac doesn't just feel like a toss-away and make the world in World of Warcraft actually mean something. That said Blizz has a lot bigger things they should focus on fixing outside of the game at the moment.
Based on the titel of the video.
When you compare WoW with cooking and Ingredient. Then MMO's are like real ramen which is build up on so many different Ingredient to make it the best.
But Blizzard is opening a bag of instandramen, put some storebought toppings on top of it and try to sell it. It will work for some time, but people will get it after some time and go to somewhere else to eat.
NO
(Actual) Housing is such an obvious thing in an MMO, it's truly baffling how Blizzard hasn't done it yet. Either their engine is such a massive clusterfuck that they absolutely can't do it properly (which would also explain the pathetically limited implementation of Garrisons), or they are just ignorant and believe their "true men" MMO with orcs is too good for such a sissy feature like some knuckle heads in the community. Housing is such an easy thing to tie into alot of the side dishes of the game like crafting, it could single handedly make professions interesting again.
I love you guys, and I'll always watch and give a like for every video, but it's like nuclear war just started and you guys are talking about the best shades of nail polish. Maybe focus on FF for a bit or something. I get wow is kind of your bread and butter and I want you guys to be successful, but wow honestly needs to go away at this point. Too much bullshit for too long, and the current shit is just mind blowing
If Matt likes Bozja he would be able to grind Eureka as well to get Ozma 👀
My.exaxr reason for leaving WoW…to get any kind d of decent gear you have to bang head against difficult content non stop. Not a way to chill relax and enjoy the game. I do t discount players who enjoy that content but a mythic 10 is the ceiling for majority of players therefore that should be the item cap. That way majority of players can progress to a point where have the time to play alts, do side content and chill out. Sorry you elite players….MMOs use to be time investment, not content difficulty. There are a million APRGs for that…WoW has left its roots of being the more casual experience for players(compared to the time investment of runescape and everquest) to alienating vast amount of players. Yes complex fights are fine, but having content and promoting content that only 10% or.less.of the player population can complete is bad.
Doesn't matter, ill stay with FF14 where you can still gear in time and have many side activities upside of M+, RAID, AND PVP.
To be honest, i never cared about housing in mmos. What i want from an mmorpg is: an enjoyable story, an interesting, unique world rich in lore, an easy to learn combat-system, lots of customisation and more than just the usual stereotype of ingame classes (you know: warrior, priest, rogue – the stuff that's been done to death).
They can do housing… take the WOD garrison remove the fortress wall remove all the structures and the npc leave a starter structure for the player and the 5 visitor limit all they have to allow after that is to allow a certain amount of objects to be dropped in that structure…. reason is the garrison already means the hardware the bandwidth on blizzards side already exists..
Why anyone gives a fuck about about people being in their homes instead of Stormwind for example when layering exists.
in FFXIV ans oddly enough Watch Dogs Legion I can just log in and relax in my house or in WDL in my car since you can't sit down in that game. It's relaxing to do that in XIV. Love chilling in my house and sleeping. All games should have housing that lets you use the items T.T XIV spoiled me.
Player housing and more “casual” content that makes it fun for everyone who don’t just wanna raid non stop. The game is still beautiful even though a graphics update would be nice, WoW is WoW and we love it for what it is. But more casual content for people who don’t wanna just raid and be in guilds that just raid which I personally feel are the majority and very boring cause WoW raids are so easy.
No offense, player housing would not fix Wows problems.
Yes blizz needs to do many things that would make casual play better, housing is one, crafting, professions etc… the problem is and I keep telling people blizz had player housing with Garrisons in WOD, it wasn't done right but the foundation is there, instead of improving it they removed it.
Look at professions, they have gotten worse not better they literally gave up on Archeology in SL there was so much they can do with professions but once again they took the easy, lazy, unimaginative way out.
You want to know what the problem with Wow is? It's the developers, its the CEOs and its the people in charge, they drove this game into the ground and it started a long long time ago, its just finally reaches its boiling point.
Lol player housing is the last thing wow needs to focus on right now… The game is completely garbage in it's current state. Decorating a cheesey little inn of your own won't fix the game or make it any funner. It would just give them another excuse to sell things on the store and add more weekly grinds to unlock things for your house.
Player housing definitely isn't the missing ingredient, I can say that for sure because goddamn getting a house in xiv is a pain in the ass LOL
i hope we get 'cosbi suite" decorations and Afrasiabi as a buttler.
dark humor.
I think this topic was brought up before a while ago, but im very much against a player housing system. If it was there since the start it would have been fine. However i really do not feel the need/ or want for player housing. And here is why.
1. It will be a grind heaven (not in the fun way)
2. It will have tons of even more micro transactions for “cooler“ looking houses.
3. Its WoW, i want do have good content. As in : Good lore/quests/story and dungeons/raids, i could care less about building a house after 50 years of grinding.
4. If they make this sytem it means LESS time spend on the content i would prefer to see.
And then here is the most important part : I am 99.9% certain the way our minds want player housing, and how blizzard would see player housing, is the opposite, its just another failure, its better to avoid said faillure then to waste time/effort in a system thats doomed to fail (im not super negative, its simply after 15+ years of seeing how Blizzard works, you can kinda take a gamble and guess where its gonna go)
TLDR: I am FULLY against player housing.
Literally yes. Player housing should have been in wow from the BEGINNING. Garrisons were SHIT too. Blizz is totally out of touch.
The first relic is in ARR
Player housing is missing ingredient but at the same time it dedinitely isnt something that has potencial to save wow in current situation
do you really want player housing in WoW when they are trying to milk the playerbase? imagine the monetization they could put into that or the amount of time gating…
This video made me hungry. 🙁
Bozja is very useful for leveling up classes from 71 to 80 and do the relic at the same time. It's a win-win thing if you care about maxing all classes.
I see player housing, i hit like.
No. Not at all
From what I understand, it's pretty difficult to actually get a house in FF14 and the house customization is limited compared to ESO. If housing is what gets your rocks off I think ESO probably has the best systems for it. (Housing is more accessible and customizations are more advanced). Both games kick the crap out of WoW in that department, though.
No
The ship for player housing sailed 10 years ago when cataclysm launched without it.
kek while doing the relic is a big part of the Bozja grind, a lot of people actually do it not for that, but for all of the other stuff you can trade in with the exclusive currency it provides. These are emotes, hairstyles, mounts, other good stuff, even cosmetic gear, so yeah, while the relic coming from it is great, most people do the relics for cosmetic reasons too anyway, along with everything else Bozja provides.
At the very least, it's waaay more fun than Eureka is.
