If it's just market and social concerns, why not disable the market board and limit duty finder? You can at least play with friends then or join duties as a party so you have your region buddy keep you inline.
Kinda pointless as a Feature, who needs that, like 0.5% of the players?
Zepla, if you want to experience Dawntrail with your EU friends, then best do what you can to get over there before DT Early Access. You do have contacts at SE, and as a well-known FFXIV streamer that helps promote the game, it's to your advantage and theirs to use them, to get it done.
If only mogstation was also cross region so players who move countries can change to their new correct address
Great. Even more tourists to Balmung.
I think the voyager thing is really cool. I didn't do much when I visited OCE but I did a frontline where a JP player was spamming multiple long macros multiple times a minute. It was so excessive I'd be worried about that in my normal NA games. People were very distracted and annoyed. I had sounds off so I didn't notice but I guess there were sounds too. Macros are generally ok it was just insanely excessive and dominated the whole chat. It was 2 specific macros, one maybe telling us where to go and another saying they were ready to jump in with a count down. I think I recorded a 2 minute video just scrolling through it, I think I went up then back down, to show some friends and they agreed with me it was a lot. That's my experience and it was a slight culture shock how hard the macros can go from JP. Someone vouched for that player being a good pvp player as well, so it was just the difference in culture that made it more difficult to cooperate. This was around when it first came out and I haven't been back but maybe I'll put that on my bucket list to do again before DT.
