Thing with the Gold Saucer: even if you lose, you win. You never get less out of a game (except the slot machines) than you invest. Take Cactpot: it costs 10 MGP to play it, but the lowest you can win is 36 or so. Unless you waste away your time at slotmachines and lose, you'll get a bunch of MGP in no time. Why would you want them? Glam and emotes 🙂
Fashion Report. Its… well, its tricky, especially at low levels. Some of the glams required are expansive, some are only awalable at higher levels. But you can win 80k MGP per week if you get a score of at least 80 (at if you just attend, with any score, you get 10k) – if you win a couple times with a score of 100, you can buy some glam from Kasumi there.
The owner of the gold saucer is…well, he's TRULY a great man.

Also fun fact, there's actually been records of an elderly japanese woman who plays XIV EXCLUSIVELY because the majong table is one of the best ways she has of playing the game with other people…and there aren't too many that offer the atmosphere this version does. I don't know the status of if she's still alive or active, but I remember hearing this particular tale some time ago from various sources!
