ABOUT THIS GAME

Final Fantasy 14 or FFXIV is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by Square Enix. Directed and produced by Naoki Yoshida, it was released worldwide for Windows and PlayStation 3 in August 2013, as a replacement for the failed 2010 version of the game, with support for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and macOS releasing later. Final Fantasy XIV takes place in the fictional land of Eorzea, five years after the events of the original 2010 release. At the conclusion of the original game, the primal dragon Bahamut escapes from its lunar prison to initiate the Seventh Umbral Calamity, an apocalyptic event which destroys much of Eorzea. Through the gods’ blessing, the player character escapes the devastation by time traveling five years into the future. As Eorzea recovers and rebuilds, the player must deal with the impending threat of invasion by the Garlean Empire from the north.

  10. 1:38 this isn’t something that Elidibus pulled out of his butt for plot convenience. Don’t forget that the crystal tower on the First was always a Time Machine. Created by Cid and the generations that followed him in the timeline where the Eighth Umbral Calamity all but destroyed civilization. Cid developed theories on time travel utilizing everything he learned about the mechanisms of Alexander and Omega, and future generations took up his research to build it into the Crystal Tower over the course of 200 years. They then sent the tower to the past, and onto the First before it joined with the Source in order to prevent the calamity from ever occurring in the first place.

  16. 17:45 Grani mount was part of Collector's Edition of Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers. you may purchase the digital items from CE any time still, so Grani can be yours
    in RP it would break immersion if you pull out Grani on Elpis (only Emet has one !), but yes you can use mounts on Elpis and even fly after the attunements are done

  17. My favorite part about the entire Elpis arc is that anyone you tell you’re Azem’s familiar just goes “ah, that makes sense, do whatever you want”
    Azem is canonically a little shit that just has fun with people, who also happens to be extra close to Emet-Selch and Hythlodaeus
