  1. The only way I could see myself agreeing with the cutscene take is if there was no "It's Someone's First Time In The Dungeon!" message at the beginning. If that's the case then yeah, they should have the option on that auto-skips stuff you've already seen and be ready to go. But I'm not going to hold it against anyone watching the cutscene when I know there's first timers in there.

That said, flipping out and saying "No! We'll abandon and get someone new because the tank ran in during the cutscene!" before the final boss of a dungeon is just completely ridiculous. That's saying they would prefer wasting another 20 minutes of their lives than simply bang out a boss fight in a few minutes so everyone can go on about their business.

  2. Content creators like you are turning one of the least toxic and most helpful gaming communities into a toxic and unhelpful community. You ranted for what someone else should do “use the trust. Don’t queue up for a dungeon and watch cut scenes “. What an absolute selfish and absurd take. How about this if you don’t want to die on pulls or wait for someone to watch a cutscene then you should go in with a premade. You didn’t get held hostage in this dungeon. You held yourself hostage because you are unable to get over yourself.

  3. I'll add that STARTING THE FIGHT DOESN'T PREVENT THE PLAYER FROM WATCHING THE CUTSCENE! THEY CAN STILL WATCH THE FN CUTSCENE WHILE WE FIGHT THE BOSS! If someone can give a legitimate reason to sit there and wait then maybe I'll change my mind but "just because" and "it's rude" are not legit reasons especially when you can't explain how it's rude.

  4. I'm glad the whole "fuck people and their cutscenes im pulling" mentality is a super small group of noodle brain people . There is nothing wrong with waiting a whole 15 seconds for a cutscene

  5. If you dont want to wait for people then YOU play the fkin trusts.
You're in the 1% of professional grinders. Sorry you're out of touch with normies. Im a story skipper but i still like watching dungeon cutscenes the first time.
If you werent tank they could have just let you die and try again.

I cant believe your response is its a problem that dark knight isnt as strong as warrior to just solo the boss for fifteen minutes.

  6. This is the type of guy i would like to avoid when i use duty finder, jesus man grow up its only a few seconds to watch the cutscenes 😂 its no wonder players rather use trust then duty finder some people are so toxic.

  7. I remember coming into FFXIV as a WoW refugee and one of the points of pride in the community was "if a sprout is watching the cutscene, we wait" and it was honestly such a breath of fresh air to experience people with soul. Dunno if WoWification is what you want happening here.

  8. The assumption other people have that their time is more important than mine is just asinine. I always skip just to respect other's time, and if I'm tank or healer… I'm pulling immediately. Actually even if I'm DPS I do anyway so. It's not all about you and "I need the story"; guess what, I don't care, watch it with another group or do it solo ♥

  9. I love how he says "expecting players to warp the way they play to fit your needs is idiotic" while expecting players to warp the way they play to fit his needs. lol

It is true that the trust was put in for people who would rather have a solo experience. But that's just it, a solo experience. It has nothing to do with if people would like to watch a cut scene or not. Not to mention all the cut scenes are nowadays is a drone camera shot of the dungeon for when you hop in, and a short scene giving the final boss an intro. Both of these cut scenes only take around 15 seconds.

Sir, the issue here is you. Cut scenes were intentionally made be be very short and quick in the expansions so to help give as little inconvenience to others as possible.

  10. BRO then tell me why when I’m doing vanguard, the drk yelled at me for dpsing in big pulls. He LIVED the entire time but he bitched about always being under 50% and called me a trash healer. Said cure2 was bullshit heals and I needed to do stronger ones. That guy was out of his mind. He ate everything I had and as a GOOD healer I actually kept him alive

  11. You are playing a story-driven MMO. Playing in a group is essentially the MMO part, cut-scenes are pretty essential for the story part. So demanding that people choose between one or the other so you don‘t waste 10 seconds is pretty ignorant.

  12. I don't agree with the if you wanna watch cutscene do it in trust. Not at frst couple weeks/first month of expac F U for having that view it's a story based game ffs
with your logic i could say you should check if everyone is ready before you go because that is why /readycheck is in the game =/

  13. If people want to play with other people and not the trust the first time and see the cutscenes too, then they can. That is the default everyone does.

You can really see the selfish raider trash mentality on display here and the superiority complex. Dude this is a casual baby's first mmo, this game is not hard, there is no sense of pride in trying to pro gamer it, you just look like a man child demanding everyone else conform to you.

  14. I agree with most of your takes but honestly, I don't think wanting to watch the cutscene in the dungeons is a big deal. I am running the story with a friend, we do the dungeons together too so trusts aren't an option, we wanna experience it together which means we have to experience it with two randoms too unless we pull in friends for it. Waiting a minute in the first week of the expansion shouldn't be a "fuck you, go do trusts" moment.

    Doesn't excuse them being assholes.

  15. Xenos tends to have good takes but this a horrible take D:

"if you want to play your way, you take the trust!" but that can be said for YOUR way too…. since your way is not what is define how to do dungeons in the game in DF. Again is 10 – 20 sec cs and is first week of Dawntrail so is gonna be a lot of new cs watchers who are doing the story on their free time and slowly.

You cannot do Trust if you are duoing with someone which is another issue with your take.

We don't want SE to implement the unskippable cs again!…will not be surprise if they did though if there is a new member in the party feature in the future if this keeps happening lol

  16. I do trust my first time so I can watch the cutscenes, but I'm fine waiting. What has been getting me irritated lately is people getting upset if you tell them mechanics.

Had a party wipe 2 times to a boss in one of the post-MSQ dungeons because the healer died and the tank was under geared. I explained how to handle the mechanic the healer was dying on and they got pissy with me.

If you're doing group content, at least make SOME sort of effort to make sure you're not inconveniencing everyone around you.

  17. FFXIV now feels like there's a forced "niceness" that has to be conformed too. I can't put my finger on it…but feels like Im playing in Pleasantville where on the surface it all seems sunshine and rainbows….but there's people in the shadows using the guise of "politeness" to live out their authoritarian complex. Im all for trying to be nice and not spoiling things. I tank and I wait for cutsecenes…doesnt bother me but it the whole community is starting to feel fake and artificial. Maybe I'm wrong..but gives me strange vibes.
