  1. I've got this theory that Tesleen is the First's equivalent of Lyse–you meet her in the First's equivalent of Little Ala Mhigo and she looks and sounds similar–so the welcome hit pretty hard, as you can imagine

  2. FUN FACT! The scene where Tesleen transforms was originally MORE graphic, but before the expansion came out they had to tone it down to keep the ESRB from increasing the age rating on the game!

  3. The writers (Ishikawa) must've had a great time writing for this expansion. Remember the peddler's line about not having a dark night in a 100 years. Although we clearly had dialogue to read, in my mind I heard it as a Dark Knight, which is the focused job in the expansion's title.

  4. I think I'm the only player who saw the scene with Tesleen, and felt nothing. She was a survivor who had grown up with the horrors that existed in the First, and she SHOULD have known better. Turning her back on a Sin Eater was so incredibly stupid and in my opinion, out of character for a survivor who knew nothing but the horrors of that world and their existences. Finish the job, then save the boy. You aren't going to save him, when you keep your back to a monster and leave yourself completely defenseless. Great, you wanted to shock the audience about the horrors of the Sin Eaters, but you couldn't bother to make the scene just a little bit more believable.

The whole thing just bothered me to no end, and every character I've taken through ShB, I just skip the cutscenes in that area because of it.

But I acknowledge I am either in the minority, or the only one who sees it this way. I don't like cheap shock scenes to push a point. Never have. It's insulting.
