Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker[a] is the fourth expansion pack to Final Fantasy XIV, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by Square Enix for Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. It will be released in December 2021, over two years after Shadowbringers, the previous expansion. Its production was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Like its predecessors, Naoki Yoshida served as director and producer and Masayoshi Soken composed the soundtrack. The expansion pack will be released as a standalone product for current players; for new players, the “Complete Edition” that originally launched with Heavensward will be updated to include all expansions including Endwalker.

In Endwalker, players will directly confront the Garlean Empire, an expansionist power that threatens the players’ homeland and allies. Zenos, the mad son of the former emperor, has murdered his father and now seeks a confrontation with the player’s Warrior of Light. He is aided by Fandaniel, an Ascian who aims to destroy the world and thereby end his immortal existence. The story has been marketed as the “finale” of the Hydaelyn–Zodiark arc, drawing the current ongoing story to a close, with an entirely new story beginning in the major patches following release. In addition to adding new areas, the expansion pack increases the level cap to 90 and debuts two new character classes, Sage and Reaper. With the recent beta test for a PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy XIV, Endwalker is intended for simultaneous release on both PlayStation models.

  11. thanks for keeping it spoiler-free. because of my situation atm, i'm only able to play on weekends and only managed to beat the first primal. but i'm glad you still care for this game. can't wait to pick it up where i left it. cheers

  14. Finished Endwalker's MSQ this morning. My game time reads at around 973 hours and I've barely scratched the surface of all the extra dungeons and whatnot. But what it did do was help me overcome my social anxiety issues when I took the plunge and accepted an FC invitation basically because I liked their emblem. It helped me become a more rounded individual. Shout-out to my comrades in DKF of Zodiark. Thank you for including me. I swear I'll stop tanking the floor.

But u clamied this is spoiler free but u have video spoilers of places we have waited years to see as in garlameld and the zodiak fight please put a visual spoiler warning on your video i dont want you to get unneccery hate off of silly people online

  17. This was a great review, I just got into this game over the summer and I’ve fallen in love with it. I’m at the end of Shadowbringers main story, and it’s crazy to me how it could get better

  20. I’ve really only gotten into two MMOs over the years: FFXIV and DC Universe Online. I’ve always enjoyed playing them but since you usually have to pay a fee to play them, it makes me only want to play those and I miss out on other games. I still think they’re great though.

    I guess you could call them games that I love but don’t like playing

    On a side note, FFXI can burn in hell

  35. mixed feeling about the review
    I agree with the story
    job wise I feel like there is a lack of understanding and experience to actually say those things and seeing the blm aoe rotation also proofs it. (as we speak here during the 6.0, some job changes sre clearly more broken then others, which they probably fix over time)

    pvp wise yes and no, doing frontline is maybe not the best way to get the best feel of pvp, doing the feast in the past however gives you an actual insight how it really is and also kinda reflect while skills are this limited. as feast is def. more or less a team depended system with depth. (it doesnt look much, but you cam clearly see who knows their stuff and who doesnt)

    Back then at HW pvp was a brokem mess bcz jobs had the same skills as they had in pve. (but it did feel pretty satisfying to play).
    The new system can be either a hit or miss but lets find out.

  42. 1100+ hours on my alt this year alone, and my biggest problem is still the dungeons and small scale pvp.

    The dungeons look incredible for hallways, but that's all they are, hallways.

    As for pvp in the small team matches communication and timing is key, yet you can't actually chat. At best there's little auto messages you can send that aren't much help for planning.
