I think what Elidibus did to Exarch was that he tried to destroy his soul with blade of darkness Just like we get rid of Ascian souls with blade of the light
As we about to reach the last arc of Shadowbringer story I would like to share that Urianger Japanese VA is KENN and his first major role is Yugioh GX protagonist, Judai or Jaden in English.
Keep that in mind as you watch the last Shadowbringer 5.3 cutscenes. It'll make sense, I promise you.

They FINALLY explain the very first cutscene you see after you create a character lol. The first thing you see is Hydaelyn, an Ascian and a "starshower" that we now know Hydaelyn created to awaken our Echo. Very interesting.
Honestly I think you pair could stream like this. Ignore chat, just watching you pair playing through, enjoying it, reading the parts (sometimes in the accents you do haha). I love it <3 you are both my favourite Channel! I have to check each day for new videos 🤣 (I am subscribed but check anyway haha)
You should be able to unlock the dungeon called Akadaemia Anyder now as well, it might remind you of another underwater game.
IIRC the concept thing is more explained in the quest to unlock the other dungeon. I am of the opinion, all of the fantasy creatures from unicorns to spriggan or whatever, are all creations of the Ancients.
The biggest relevation here was that the ECHO, the one thing we though Hydaelyn was blessing us with was not her gift at all. it was the opposite those who had the echo could hear Hydaelyn. So that means Hydaelyn was constantly sending out her "Hear, Feel, Think" waves in hope someone would react to it. This also means that Hydaelyn is much less powerful than we thought. Also that the ECHO is a literal echo of memories from the final days a trauma so deep that it leaves a scar in the soul itself.

if you seen the movie the host directed by the same guy that did parasite the unknown boss looks similar to the monster from the host

Man, 5.2 ended with the Zenos dreaming of the final days cutscene and we were left with that cliffhanger for 3 months!

I appreciate how quickly you all went from sprouts to every caster meme at 80 in these raids and 80 dungeons. You all grew up so fast :')
