  1. Ooo Pint videos are great! And I see that others have recommended Cider Spider also! They both are great creators for FF14. As far as playing an MMO, I would definitely recommend FF14 to all beginners. You get a tutorial from the beginning and the community is one of the friendliest I have experienced. And it looks like you have many in your YouTube community who would be eager to assist. (I’ve been playing for 18 months and have barely cracked the 2nd expansion-there is so much to do and you can really go at your own pace)

    Great video!!

  2. Pint is great. Lucy Pyre used to do a lot of 14 content too. She's got some pretty hilarious videos
The FF7 Remake series is great. You can sink sooooooooo muuuuuch time into 14. It's a lot of fun, especially after you get to the DLC

  3. Final fantasy is def a “figure out what you love” game I have friends who will do the hardest raids but I also have friends who like decorating the houses. Me I’ve been having a ton of fun playing a in game card game called triple triad. You collect cards via npcs and from bosses/dungeons. There’s a little over 350 in the game and I’m at the 300 mark so I’m almost there. There’s also the deep dungeons which work kind of like rogue like games that are entirely optional

  4. As others have mentioned, FFXIV changed how a house can be purchased and it really is a huge improvement. There are some down sides to the changes but only people who were there before the change will really notice them.

  5. Pint is amazing!

7 is great but visually it's aged a lot (and FF7: Remake is amazing but you need to have played the original 7 first).

10 is incredible (I'm biased, it's my third favorite). 14 is my favorite (when you take the latest 2 expansions into account) but it's a MASSIVE commitment to do all of the current expansions – but it's so, so damn worth it when you can get past the base game. If you decide to pull the trigger though play on Sargatanas 😶 so I can tag along

  6. As a person who has played this game since 2011, if you need MMORPG chops, this game is a fantastic way to get them. Great stories. Easy to play and understand. You can be any class/job you wish without having to make another character. Great soundtrack. You two would love it.

  7. I would so love for you both to react to the entire story of FFXIV because it's absolutely incredible. Would be interesting to see what kind of character you'd make too.

  8. It'd be great if you played together, and it's definitely a better vehicle for experiencing (and reacting to) the story than watching the odd video compilation. E: Also, the great thing about FFXIV is that you don't NEED to be the "best" gamers. The team took great pains to make content that everyone could enjoy, and the community is mostly helpful. Never feel like you need to be uber gamers to play or enjoy the content.

  9. FF14 is pretty overwhelming at first. Lots of tutorial text boxes. But once you get the systems down it's pretty easy to play. And nearly everything in the main story that requires you to play with other people is usually very simple and casual. Most people don't even bother talking in those. And no matter where you are in the game, if you have a question you just ask and someone will answer it.

  10. you can play FF14 in a free trail till lvl 60 there is no subscriptions and no time limit. You will have FF14 A realm reborn and the expansion heavensward. But there is a small catch on that Free trail you can't get more then 300k Gil (money and trust me it is just pocket change), You cant whisper/tell other ppl in private, You can't be invited to a free company/guild, you can't invite ppl into a party but other ppl can invite you instead for a party and you can't send a friend request but other way it can. The + side is you can solo most of the content. there is no fee for the game or subscription and there is no time limit. So if you are willing to play it is a viable on PC/PS4/PS5/Steam. and what @Myrkr Ormr said about the housing it is true they changed it. There is now a lot system.

    kind regards,
    Johan Toetenel

  11. Some of the stories that they tell in FFXIV are unreal. It starts off pretty slow, but as you move from one piece of content to the next they usually improve by leaps and bounds (with a few exceptions, depending on taste).

  12. As someone who's played every FF game in the series since I was a child back in the 80s, let me tell you that FF14 is THE BEST game in the series, but you still shouldn't play it first. You'd be best served playing one of the others, first, and then LATER coming to 14. Then, when you do, use my RAF code 😛

  13. I absolutely love Pint and his videos are always a treat to experience, hes a long time WoW player who was one of many of them to go to Final Fantasy after what happened in WoW and it was nice to see him move to the game. For you guys i would totally recommend the game, its free till level 50 so you have a while before you decide if you want to commit to it fully or not and its essentially entirely single player at the moment except for raids like you said, and it is really amazing whats possible in the game, theres people who do nothing but crafting and set prices on markets, theres interior designers, venue owners where people run bars, clubs, and other little shops, there are high end raiders, die hard pvpers, role players, mini game nuts, and even the most expensive end game group to be in, fashionistas, always gotta be lookin on point. plus the community is super nice and welcoming and helpful so you can always turn to a fellow player if you need it which i find rare in recent multiplayer games

  14. I think role-playing and things that add no real upgrades like player housing are the worst parts of a game. So this did not sell me lol.

Though even the mention of torghast made me hurt inside

  15. I went from WoW to 14 and been pretty happy. If you were to give the game a try, I'd recommend one of ya trying to be a Tank like Gladiator or Marauder. It helps you get into groups quickly. Healer will do the same but might be harder to work as.

I did Marauder cause it was exactly what I wanted. Someone who can take abuse and give it back and I guess more aggressive? I haven't actually tried Gladiator yet.

  16. I can't wait to get around to trying FF14. I've been putting it off for so long to play ESO but haven't been able to log in, possibly cause I'm on an old Razer laptop from 5 years ago XD. I think maybe it's time to give Final Fantasy the chance that it deserves and that I've been waiting to give it. Always love your guys' videos, keep up the reacting undefinitively! <3

  17. In the most recent patches they changed buying houses. No more standing around a placard for 24-78 hours clicking. Instead they implemented a lottery system. 1 bid per person so you have to pick where you'd like to live, and when ya make a bid, you cannot make a bid anywhere else. And then you just have to hope when the bidding period ends, that your number is the winner. And best of all, your money you put down if you lose, is returned. So overall, housing is a lot better now.

  18. Yup, you've nailed it, and Pint did a good job conveying it: Nothing is mandatory. Certain things need to be done to unlock other things, generally to get more of the same. Like if you want to do the hardest raids, you need to complete some of the easier ones along the way. But if you just want to spend your time fishing, or composing music, doing solo dungeons, or buying and selling on the market board; you can do that. The community is super welcoming and supportive. For anyone curious about the game, you can play the entirety of the base game, and the first expansion, absolutely free, for as long as you like.

As new gamers, you will find that FFXIV does a really good job easing you into the game's mechanics. Playing a class from level 1 to level 90 is like listening to a song where the instruments come in one at a time. Start with a drum just giving you a beat, then the baseline comes in, then the drumming expands with snare and symbols, the lead guitar picks up, the keyboard starts in with a melody, and then the vocals start and you suddenly find yourself singing along. You start the game by having one button to press, and get used to doing that one thing on a rhythm. Then in a level you get another thing to do, giving you a one-two beat, in another level or two, you get a third thing to weave inbetween like: one-two, one-two-three; one-two, one-two-three. And thus it goes. The whole rhythm fades into the background, and you are just vibeing and enjoying the experience. Some classes are easier than others, (like I wouldn't recommend Black Mage for new players), but since you can level up every job and switch jobs at will, you can try out every job until you find one that resonates with you.

The devs are also on a mission currently to improve the solo player experience, by integrating a system whereby you can run dungeons with NPCs instead of other players. Letting you go at your own pace. About 70% of the game already has this system, and they improve that number with every patch. Not that running with players is bad, again, the community is super supportive and people are there to help everyone have fun.

Pint is actually a newer player, and is still working his way through the story. His video had a bunch of in-jokes and references for current players, but his editing is absolutely on point.

  19. Ken, Gotta say buddy you are rocking that shirt. Never noticed before, but purple is a really good color on ya. If I wore it I would look like frickin' Barney. xD Also, the next thing y'all need to watch before you plan to play the game is the no clip doc of 14. Definitely will make you appreciate the game much more. 🙂
