The banhammer comes down on the stream snipers on popular Vtuber Pekora’s FFXIV stream. Pekora is one of the most popular vtubers, you can watch her FFXIV vod here: https://youtu.be/DAcvpK3AwQU

At least IRyS' stream went much smoother, but still, I wouldn't have handled what Pekora went through anywhere near as well as she did, and at least it hasn't deterred her from playing in her own time, she's apparently done some dungeons off-stream.
SMH, famous people get immediate mod action, meanwhile the same botfarm that's been reported hundreds of times is still active.
Looks like nothing of value is lost in those ban waves.
I have no idea who pekora is. Ill be real, while this is disheartening, it is to be expected if youre a big streamer. You get people who want to play with you cause theyre fans and you get people that hate you and want you gone.
Quazii, Pekora's original JP fanbase had said these "idiotic trolls" are mostly EN based people stalking Pekora. So taking that into consideration, most of her JP fans were well behaved. It's just that alot of the EN based fans were pretty much attention-seekers wanting to use Pekora's livestream to make a quick appearance of some sort, all the while causing screen obstruction and griefing her overall gameplay experience. I heard that some of her JP fans got the temp ban as well because of these troll EN based fans. Which in turn is giving the JP players more reason to hate the EN players.
As a EN based player myself, this is really hurtful to see…
Whatever the reasons, they're deserve to be banned
*yeah banned for life
I honestly don't understand that mentality. Let's assume a big streamer is in my server, I understand going to their area to check on what/how they're doing out of curiosity or trying to help them with some content but anything beyond that is just WHY?
Why go and worsen their experience by being an asshole while also risking a ban? Good thing the staff is almost unforgiving with those bans.
pain peko
i dont understand the urge to do this. i saw news about hololive streaming it and just thought "cool i'll tune in on the streams for abit"
not "oh i'll seek them out in game for whatever reason"
same with asmon etc. really dont see the point. i'd rather watch them then waste my time following them around.
Line up, lead her to the quest location. And that make you look cool. Not this.
I hope Pekora is encouraged by the bans (Which she warned her audience about during the stream) and will stream FF14 again. A shame if we loose out on seeing her enjoy the game, but if she has to play off stream ill still be happy she is having fun.
Not only did they risk it just before Endwalker, but no one will remember them. It's not even 15 seconds of fame. No one will think anything other than "what a bunch of jerks", and won't even know their names let alone remember them. So GGs but on the bright side, shorter que times for the rest of us! o/
Dumbasses are dumbasses. That is all I can say.
Hope they learn their lesson, second and up infractions is a perma or a 30 day ban
watching the footage, Pekora must have been really irritated with this, i would have left the game on and chose a different game to play.
This is horrendously obnoxious behavior, and I'm honestly really surprised. I'd say the bans are well deserved. We should be better than this. smh
Thing to keep in mind is that the JP community most likely don't know about Asmon's stream snipers. They hadn't had the lesson to learn…until now. It's a shame she most likely won't play on stream again because like with Asmon, they've probably learned their lesson now.
That's a shock to view too many screen snipers over acting on screen to ruin Pekora's gaming. Yes, she is popular FFXIV player on live screen, yet griefers/screen snipers, stage stealers should be banned for cheap laughs, & "did you see me take down/stalk Pekora's streaming play?" It may take a number of bans for the idiots who keep making new accounts to stalk, grief honest players.
Lets be honest if your streaming a game your asking for it to happan in fact probably want it to happen for the attention.
I'm just watching that footage and counting how many mogstation and rare mounts are now yeeted into the void.
Very funny this comes only about a month after the news that jp players are relieved about all the ~foreigners~ leaving that one world on their DC. Guess jp culture against making waves or being mean stops counting when there's a chance to mess with a celebrity or show some nationalism lmao.
No lie, it is odd seeing Pekora next to Quazii.
I'm just grateful that Pekora has years of experience dealing with toxic fans/chat/antis. She took all of this in stride. Also she took the precaution of abbreviating player names for their benefit so they don't get harrassed later themselves. Hololive sort of knew this might happen since Square Enix gave them approval to stream FFXIV, and as others pointed out, they all knew about Asmongold getting sniped. The girls seem to enjoy it and Fubuki is in ShB postgame content since she got very excited when she was able to finally start talking about the game.
Did the Japanese think the Asmon ban hammers were for NA only? Lmao
I dont understand the people saying "oh they might've not known it was bannable"
I don't get to steal shit and say "Oh I didnt know that was illegal!" The TOS is there to read and the player agreed to it. The GMs have the right to ban you if they find you violate the TOS, it is YOUR FAULT for being ignorant. get banned losers.
