  1. While still daunted by Savage I am actually comfortable enough with Ex4 to even call out mechanics when I see them. Now I just need to run it 50 times to get enough tokens for the mount 😀

  2. One thing I have learned in terms of money/preparation is that imo leveling Miner/Botanist from the gatherers and Alchemist from the crafters will remove the majority of your gil spending and help you fund the other purchases.

Gear is basically a one time cost and you will only use 2-3 food per hour you plan to prog so you can stretch out a single 99x purchase into a few days or weeks depending on how hardcore you plan to raid. However you will be burning pots at a fast rate.

But so long as you have those 3 classes you can cover that because the pots are made with mostly easy to find materials and each successful recipe makes 3 pots meaning its easy to generate a surplus to sell off in a short amount of time once you have all the materials.

  3. Learn how to get passed the gatekeeping. Epically for console players, that are treated like they don't exist. While the PC master race are allowed to cheat in savage raiding with 3rd party add ons.

  4. Great video! I don't entirely agree about watching guides though. Obviously some people learn well by watching I personally get absolutely nothing out of it. For this raid tier, I went into PF completely blind, doing my best to not be afraid of asking questions. As long as I was joining groups that were "from start" or up to a mechanic that I had already learned by playing it several time, I doubt anyone really even noticed. Long story short I made it all the way up through and completed P8S phase 1 this way.

That said, I have been taking a look at video guides for phase 2 now simply because it's so hard to get a party that actually reaches there for practice (unlike the rest of the tier, speaking as a tank at least). Either way, the experience has been a lot more fun and productive for me compared to when I've tried seeing the fights before hand. I actually progressed faster because I spent more time and energy trying to genuinely understand each mechanic instead of memorizing guides (most of them gloss over why something is being done, honestly).
