Today we have a build for Thancred and Emet Selch from Final Fantasy XIV in Dungeons & Dragons! If you want to play as the nicest Gunbreaker/Rogue, or the saddest of villains, these builds will have you covered for D&D 5e.

Neat
So not to be that guy, but gun blades don't actually shoot bullets in final fantasy, they just kind of explode on impact, so smite is a lot more appropriate than say guiding bolt.
I always forget just how bonkers powerful a high level wizard is until you make a video for one.
I GOT SUPER GIDDY WHEN I SAW THE CHARACTERS AAAAAH
My biggest experience with FF14 is the FF14 In A Nutshell videos from Rabtoons and we haven't met Emet Selch yet (he was seen early in a gag about long queues but he didn't do anything) but I'm eager for the series to get to him. He sounds fun.
Not very familiar with the source material, but Dream of the Blue Veil might make more sense than Plane Shift. I was under the impression that the "alternate realms" in FF14 are more like other material planes rather than something like the planes you can reach with Plane Shift.
"Only works on one person though. Unfortunately it can't save your whole universe, though." Oh. MY. GOD LMAOo
This is Thancred.
This is Thancred.
I'm currently somewhere near the end of Heavensward, how worried should I be about spoilers?
"You don't pay my subs" is the FF XIV equivalent of saying "that's what my character would do."
I mean it makes sense Thancred has intelligence. He IS an archon
I love this! Unfortunately I'm not caught up on the storyline so I'm gonna mute it and play the second half in the background so you still get the watchtime đ
My favourite character I've ever played is a rogue/paladin cross. It's a great combination.
best tank IMO is a small race with a ton of health and mounted combatant riding piggyback on the dps.
Hey Tulok, saw your tweet and felt bad for not watching your content this month. Did a custom sub to your patreon, but I don't really know technology, so…ummm Merry Christmas and thanks for all your amazing work
The lack of Mirage Arcane to create an entire tangible illusory city disturbs me…
Man, this was a fun pair of characters.
I started playing ff14 a week ago, already level 55, and understand most of these references, that being said, spoiler alert, tankard gets a gunblade?!
For another tank with magic bullets, there's Jesse Faden. She also has an edgy backstory, as well as barriers, flight, teleportation, and most importantly, yeeting things.
7:25 Considering that he literally has a PhD in spying(I'm not joking, really), it honestly kinda makes sense too, lol.
SEVEN HELLS YES
Ah Thancred… the True Hero of FF14….
Anything The WoL can do, Thancred can do better.
If FF14 weren't an MMO Thancred would be the player.
Honestly, WoL is the special Snowflake McGuffin that Thancred needs to keep safe and alive so they can do their one fated thing before Thancred can step back in and save the day.
If Thancred isn't available then it's Yshtola.
The Mighty Cat Boy and Little Elf Twin… eh, they're useless…
I never realized they potential of basing Gunbreaker mechanics off of Paladin smite and spell slots as cartridges, thanks for opening my eyes with Dadcred, Tulok! I loved this episode!
I am REALLY surprised to see you make a FFXIV Character's Build. đź
And of Emet-Selch out of all o' them! đ
Iâm curious to see how a Red Mage would work in this game.
Estenien and Zenos next video?
now THIS is thancred
A funny thing about Thancred's mechanical growth over time is he started out as a Gladiator, the precursor class to Paladin. He has a stint after Rogue is added where he "goes back to his roots" but in almost every scene he is a Rogue he seems to keep taking physical damage way more often than you'd expect. He basically started the game as a tank, switched to a dps but kept trying to pull mobs until he got his fat deeps beaten out of him so he went back to tanking. Aside from some stealth stuff here and there, his entire combat strategy is to get kicked in the nards so hard the person kicking him dies of exhaustion.
I don't hate Thancred, he's a good dude. I just find that really funny.
Can you please do denji or aki from chainsaw man or Gyro from jojo's bizzare adventure steel ball run
I always thought Thancred was a Hyur and not a rogueadin
his actual name is technically Hades
we are blessed on this day. the thancred build is real!
Hades i think
Still waiting for Greek kratos build
Hmm. Don't really like Thancred's int being so low…he has his PhD after all.
FORGE AHEEEEEAAAAAAAD
When Estinien?
I love that for the Emet-Selch build, his 20th level is Artificer, meaning that his capstone ability is "Gun."
Also, I would love to see you do Elidibus as the Warrior of Light, or just the FF1 Warrior of Light as a build.
I would honestly be impressed if Tulok ever tried to make the Meteor Survivor as a build. I think it would take roughly six different videos for each class as to do it in one would be the longest video he would have made at this point
âBehold a Sorcerer of Eld. And this gun I found.â
Emet is Hades
I going to be that guy Tulok but there is a different from Emo and Goth, according to South Park, Emo wants to die, Goth want everyone else to die, that why in real life no one scare of Emo but in the 1990s everyone was scared of the Goth listening to Marilyn Mansonđ
I hope 1 day Tulok will do Ninjor and Magna Defender from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Power Rangers Lost Galaxy.
Love seeing FFXIV builds! I feel like Armorer is another good class for gunbreaker, as you could flavor the lightning gauntlet as a gunblade and get a built in taunt.
Thancred didn't graduate Wizard college for this slander.
The builds, on the other hand, are spot fucking on.
Hey. Hey. Build Godrick please.
